Morning is wonderful. Its only drawback is that it comes at such an inconvenient time of day.<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n

Mary drove over to visit my house as there were some last-minute things to do.\u00a0 We decided to go to Old Ranch for breakfast, and we both had a great Ninth Hole Omelet. Brunch without champagne is just a sad breakfast.\u00a0 We had a bottle of Cakebread, delicious. Wine improves with age. The older I get, the better I like it.<\/p>\n

I did ask Mary, “What wine goes with Captain Crunch?”\u00a0 I did not get an answer.<\/p>\n

We then headed to my place, only 2.5 miles away, for a little spruce up.\u00a0 Mary watered everything while I painted the block wall surrounding the pool equipment.<\/p>\n

Some comparisons are revealing.\u00a0 We really hope the sale goes through!\u00a0 Joe is coming over on Monday to review the geologist’s findings, and he will be able o see the property upfront and personal.<\/p>\n

The Entrance Way<\/h1>\n

Trees surrounded the entranceway in the old house.<\/p><\/div>\n

The new entrance faces the street with fifteen steps to the top.<\/p><\/div>\n

The Kitchen<\/h1>\n

The kitchen is important to us as we both like to cook and entertain.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a>

The kitchen was huge, but we cooked there almost every day.<\/p><\/div>\n

\"\"<\/a>

The new kitchen is also large and has a breakfast area plus access to the outdoor dining area.<\/p><\/div>\n

\"\"<\/a>

Plenty of storage, and it has a walk-in pantry!<\/p><\/div>\n

The Living Room\/Family Room<\/h1>\n

The living room and den are combined in the old house while they are distinctly isolated in the new house.<\/p>\n

The old house had a step-up into the living area.<\/p><\/div>\n

\"\"<\/a>

The new family room is adjacent to the kitchen, has a bar, and direct access to the pool\/spa.<\/p><\/div>\n

\"\"<\/a>

Drink anyone? Complete with two wine refrigerators.<\/p><\/div>\n

Separate formal living room.<\/p><\/div>\n

The Master Bedroom<\/h1>\n

The master bedroom suite is significantly larger in the new house.\u00a0 We remodeled the old house to make the bathroom larger and put in a sixteen-foot-long walk-in closet.<\/p>\n

The old house had a great master bed\/bathroom and access to the front walkway.<\/p><\/div>\n

\"\"<\/a>

A little more room and a view of the city!<\/p><\/div>\n

The master bath is larger than my old bedroom!<\/p><\/div>\n

The Office<\/h1>\n

Because of m interest in computers, I spend a lot of time in the office and keep my cookbooks handy.<\/p>\n

The office was nice and had a view.<\/p><\/div>\n

I think the office will be fine! Room for both of us!<\/p><\/div>\n

The Pool\/Patio<\/h1>\n

While the pool was used quite a bit, the old house did not have any privacy nor view.<\/p>\n

The pool was just right for the yard.<\/p><\/div>\n

\"\"<\/a>

Room for entertaining in the new place.<\/p><\/div>\n

Room to entertain and privacy!<\/p><\/div>\n

The Garage<\/h1>\n

We could have five cars, three inside and two outside… perhaps even an RV?<\/p>\n

We had a two-car garage which was really on because of my small shop.<\/p><\/div>\n

\"\"<\/a>

The new place has an oversize three-car garage with a 30-foot long workbench.<\/p><\/div>\n

I have wanted a real shop for over 60 years… Now I will have one!<\/p><\/div>\n

We finished painting and watering about 3:00 PM and headed to Mary’s for a well-deserved soak in the swim spa.<\/p>\n

We watched a movie and made artichokes in the Instapot. By 11:00 PM, we were crashed.\u00a0 Tomorrow is a day of rest except for dancing Sunday evening.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
