What do they sing at a snowman\u2019s birthday party? Freeze a jolly good fellow!<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n

Mary got her call from the VA saying “OK to come in” but check-in through Occupational Therapy.\u00a0 Tuesday and Wednesday are her last two days at the VA after almost thirty-three years!\u00a0 December 31st she is officially retired!\u00a0 However, we already have a “to-do” list which will keep us busy through 2021 at least!\u00a0 Mary headed in to work at 8:00 AM.<\/p>\n

After the call, we took Scout for his morning walk (or should I say he took us for the morning drag)<\/p><\/div>\n

Mary did not have a Zoom meeting this morning and that is a good thing! Dilbery will be glad to explain!<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

IColleen and I talked for a while this morning.\u00a0 She is getting the holiday treatment from her kids and I explained what I did in those cases.\u00a0 She felt a little better I think.\u00a0 Like Mary says, “Don’t sweat the small stuff!”<\/p>\n

I was full of wee wee and vinegar this morning and pounced on my endless chores list like a June bug on a football.\u00a0 I got my Christmas presents organized and amazingly enough found some Christmas paper and ribbons and bows!\u00a0 I found the Scotch and also some tape.\u00a0 I followed the instructions, take a drink of Scotch, and tape something.\u00a0 By the end of the first hour, I had used forty rolls of tape and nothing in the house was moving.\u00a0 We will not talk about the second hour but it involved a passing seagull and a rubber mallott plus some rubber bands.<\/p>\n

I wrapped the presents for Mary and determined I should NOT give up my day job! None of the paper was very big, so I improvised!<\/p>\n

Thank goodness Mary is so very understanding!<\/p><\/div>\n

I did the wash, and then I was a naughty boy.\u00a0 I made onion dip and sat there and had that for lunch!\u00a0 Oh boy, it was so good, but the calorimeter went bonkers!\u00a0 I lost a notch on my belt and gained two pounds.\u00a0 After Christmas, I am going back to eating properly (after all the candy is gone of course!).<\/p>\n

The garden got a good watering today, and it is coming along quite well.\u00a0 I could start harvesting salad this week.\u00a0 The peas are growing nicely, and this weekend I shall give them some veggie fertilizer.<\/p>\n

Mary worked late, until almost 6:00 PM, so I departed for her place early so I could have the dog watered, house warm, wood chopped, ironing completed, fireplace on, and wine poured (plus I snuck in her Christmas presents inside, which she will probably not see).\u00a0 I am a little devil; I am!<\/p>\n

Mary shared her card with me from the staff at work.<\/p><\/div>\n

Her staff sent her home with a beautiful carnation and rose bouquet.<\/p>\n

She was happy and sad, very understandable! Everyone signed her card!<\/p><\/div>\n

We popped over to Jan’s house to have a glass of wine and visit for a bit.\u00a0 Jan was “down” as she has been couped up in the house for months now. We laughed and giggled for an hour and returned her to normal.<\/p>\n

We laughed and giggled and tried to figure out when Mary joined Starlighters.<\/p><\/div>\n

Returning home, Mary changed out of her work clothes and I fixed “dinner”.\u00a0 OK, it was Mac and Cheese plus a nice salad.\u00a0 The important thing is that it was fast and good!<\/p>\n

We watched a Christmas movie before crashing.\u00a0 Tomorrow is a long day for both of us.\u00a0 I have to be in a dentist’s chair for three hours, and it is Mary’s very last day at the VA.\u00a0 I plan to meet her in her office and walk her out the door so she is not alone at this critical time.<\/p>\n

Around 4:00 AM my iPhone went off indicating there was someone at my house.\u00a0 Mr. Possum was visiting the front yard.\u00a0 I switched on the yard lights and scared to possum out of him!<\/p>\n
