I am one candle closer to starting a house fire.<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n

I woke up and did not feel any older, but then I figured it out, I was born at 4:03 PM, so I have to wait until later in the afternoon.<\/p>\n

Mary went to work, and Scout and I had all morning to fiddle around.\u00a0 We took a walk, and Scout, being the ever caring dog, walked slowly, making sure pops didn’t collapse.\u00a0 We worked around the house, cleaned up from last night’s soiree, and generally were lazy.<\/p>\n

I glanced out the master bedroom window and saw a man standing at the front door!\u00a0 Could to be Santa arriving early?<\/p>\n

Twas the day of my birth and all through the house;<\/em><\/strong>
\n not a creature was stirring, not even a Scout;<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

Then out by the door there arose such a clatter;<\/em><\/strong>
\nI sprang from my bedroom to see what was the matter.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

Away to the window, I flew like a flash,<\/em><\/strong>
\nTore open the door and said hello.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

When what to my wondering eyes did appear,<\/em><\/strong>
\nBut a miniature delivery boy and eight tiny rein-deer,<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

He had a broad face and a little round belly.<\/em><\/strong>
\nThat shook when he laughed, like a bowl full of jelly.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

He was chubby and plump, a right jolly old elf,<\/em><\/strong>
\nAnd I laughed when I saw him, in spite of myself;<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

He spoke not a word but went straight to his work,<\/em><\/strong>
\nAnd filled my arms with a package that was marked;<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

Katella Deli it said on the box,<\/em><\/strong>
\nIt has to be Colleen; she is as clever as a fox.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

And laying his finger aside of his nose,<\/em><\/strong>
\nAnd giving the nod, down the walkway he went;<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

He sprang to his sleigh, to his team gave a whistle,<\/em><\/strong>
\nAnd away they all flew like the down of a thistle.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

I opened the box to see what was there.<\/strong><\/em>
\nA fresh cherry pie, as red as my hair (used to be).<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n

How very thoughtful of m,y daughter.\u00a0 My favorite pie just in time for tonight’s soiree!<\/p>\n

Mary called at 1:00 PM and was ready to be picked up by her chauffeur.\u00a0 The Silver Fox and I shot over to the VA and rescued the damsel in distress.\u00a0 \u00a0I was going to throw my hair up to her office and rescue her like Repunzel, but I could only get it thrown about six inches.\u00a0 Mary had to come downstairs by herself.<\/p>\n

We returned to my place and had a bowl of the pot roast from last night before continuing the day’s chores and errands.\u00a0 Mary took off at 2:00 PM going toward Orange to do some last-minute things before tonight’s soiree.<\/p>\n

Scout and I departed about 2:30 PM for Mary’s, and we got there about five minutes before she arrived.\u00a0 Perfect timing.<\/p>\n

We worked around the house for a bit and then went to the Rib Trader to visit Jim The Bartender (it is his birthday also).<\/p>\n

We finished setting the table, and I carried in the bags and bags of food.\u00a0 We are off to The Trader for a glass of wine and get dinner!<\/p>\n

We selected the kitchen table because tonight is family, and that is special!<\/p><\/div>\n

We picked up dinner and came home after visiting with Jim, whose birthday it is today also!<\/p>\n

Jim, Bartender Extraordinaire, send pictures of our dinner being cooked!<\/p>\n
