The Christmas alphabet has noel.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

Google Photos gives me a random selection of photos from years gone by.\u00a0 This morning it opened to December 14th, 2019, and guess what?\u00a0 It was Mary and me at the Candlelight Dinner Theater last year. Isn’t it amazing what a year makes in people’s lives??\u00a0 This year there is no play, the first year I have missed in twenty-nine years!\u00a0 On the bright side, we have reservations for next year already!<\/p>\n

One Year Ago, TODAY!<\/p><\/div>\n

Up and at ’em, it’s a joyful Monday, and I have chores to do! Mary is off to Huntington Beach, and I am doing tasks around the house to stay out of trouble.\u00a0 One of my backups, Carbonite, stopped working, so I got that fixed (I hope) after a lengthy call to the technical support folks.<\/p>\n

I continued my “housework,” getting ready for Robin to come over tomorrow night in mid-morning.\u00a0 Mary plans to stop by and visit Robin and have dinner before going home.<\/p>\n

After lunch, I attacked the entrance walkway and got rid of the summer peppers and several questionable herbs.\u00a0 Off the H&H Nursery, I went in the sleigh (the Odyssey Van) to get replacements and even some flowers!\u00a0 The next stop was Lowe’s, and I got a remote switch for Mary’s tree as I hated to see her have to get down on hands and knees to turn the tree off and on.<\/p>\n

Now the tree goes on every time we leave!<\/p><\/div>\n

Plus, I picked up a real wreath, and she plans to put it by the tree so it will smell good!<\/p>\n

I worked until it was dark, then I cleaned up and headed for Mary’s for dinner and a little TV.\u00a0 I got there first, and the first thing we do is have a glass of wine and discuss the day.\u00a0 Mary had a fascinating case today, and fitting him for glasses was difficult.<\/p>\n

Would they be considered dark gasses? Now we have plenty of charcoal for the next cookout!<\/p><\/div>\n

As we were cooking dinner, we called Lisa and showed her the shirt she and Pete got me (it was not lost after all).\u00a0 We then called Colleen and chatted with her and finally Robin and of course, Robin and Mary started teasing each other.\u00a0 Somehow Mary ended up with a bag on her head, and I laughed so hard I don’t remember the conversation!<\/p>\n

Paper bag and pearls, it’s a new fad!<\/p><\/div>\n

We had “breakfast for dinner,” which I always love.\u00a0 Bacon and eggs plus an excellent potato, perfect!\u00a0 Mary, always working on meal presentation, went outside to the basil farm where she sits on a while plastic stool and cuts basil leaves.\u00a0 Well, she forgot it rained this morning, and when she sat on the nice while stool, she shot up into the air like an Atlas Nuclear Missle being launched.<\/p>\n

Apparently, there was a big pool of ice-cold water on the stool, and it soaked directly into her britches.\u00a0 The blood-curdling screams, shrieks, yelps, squawks, whoops, and caterwauling let loose by this little lady could be heard for miles.<\/p>\n

Dogs started barking and howling (I don’t know if they were scared by the sounds or they were laughing at the situation), and a police helicopter soon flew over to see what was going on.\u00a0 I got the extension ladder and retrieved her off the roof, where she had been hanging drying out for about five minutes.\u00a0 \u00a0I got the giggles, something I should not have done,\u00a0 and Mary headed upstairs for a change in pants.<\/p>\n

Mary kind of looked like this!<\/p><\/div>\n

Before dinner was served, I called Diane, my sister-in-law, and we talked for quite a while.\u00a0 I got my nieces’ addresses, and Diane told me to open the delivery I got from her today!\u00a0 Yummy!\u00a0 Diane’s Christmas cookies; something I always look forward to every year! I introduced Mary to Diane.\u00a0 I thank Diane for helping me through this year and especially thank her for accepting Mary as my extraordinary friend.<\/p>\n

Diane is very thoughtful, and sending us cookies and fudge was amazing! Being a good guy, I will let Mary eat the whole thing…. he he he!<\/p><\/div>\n

I could not resist the present, so I peeked, and we got two books about traveling by car around the country!\u00a0 Yeah!\u00a0 We will put these to use!<\/p>\n

Please get in the car; we are off and running!<\/p><\/div>\n

After dinner, we watched TV and then went to work, completing the decorations and getting ready for my birthday dinner party.\u00a0 Scout, The Wonder Dog, was there to assist.\u00a0 When we get a decoration in our hand, he points to the spot where it should go.<\/p>\n

Awaiting instructions and hoping it involves food!<\/p><\/div>\n

We began working in earnest, including adding a leaf to the dining room table and getting ready for Wednesday night’s dinner gathering with Robin and Bob!<\/p>\n

Mary has a wonderful home that is very inviting, a joy to decorate.<\/p><\/div>\n

Mary put the Merry back in Christmas for me!<\/p><\/div>\n

Everything was looking good, and it was getting late.\u00a0 We watched a short Christmas movie and proceeded to crash!\u00a0 Tomorrow is a long day for Mary, and I am going home to cook dinner for the ladies tomorrow night.\u00a0 My special French beef stew!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
