“Your presents are requested.”<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n

I was a little worried about today as I had planned to decorate for Christmas, the first time in several years as Sue was in declining health and we did no decorating recently.\u00a0 \u00a0This was Sue’s favorite holiday, and she used to get great joy out of spending days decorating everything.<\/p>\n

Well, Miss Mary, Robin, and Bob volunteered to come and be with me and help decorate.\u00a0 It was a real blessing as I almost lost it a couple of times but being surrounded by people who love you makes the pain bearable.\u00a0 We laughed and giggled for several hours, and I had memories of many of the silly decorations, but they were good memories.<\/p>\n

We had a lot of fun, and frankly, I may have imbibed a little more than usual; you will see the results later on!\u00a0 Fortunately, Mary and I had Robin and Bob to provide adult supervision.<\/p>\n

But first things first!\u00a0 Happy Birthday, Robin, our little princess!<\/p>\n

She is the princess!<\/p><\/div>\n

Mary wrapped the presents and selected the card.\u00a0 Apparently, she did an excellent job! Robin got a great kick out of the contents!<\/p>\n

Camera time and “the Robin pose” is becoming very popular! Surrounded by beautiful women, what a life!<\/p>\n

The girls were having a load of fun!<\/p><\/div>\n

Many many moons ago, when I was working, my staff gave me a Christmas present.\u00a0 It was a Christmas Thong.\u00a0 Well, it was packed away but about five years ago, my wife, Sue, found it and she did not remember how I got it…and she was there.\u00a0 I had to put it on to see if it would still fit (NO!\u00a0 I have never worn it in public).<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a>

I never work it for OBVIOUS reasons!<\/p><\/div>\n

Time to get to work and decorate.\u00a0 We had about eighteen large boxes of “stuff,” and I remembered it all.\u00a0 I caught Mary singing, but once she saw me, she stopped.\u00a0 I shall be sneakier next time!<\/p>\n

It has to be just right, or the little fan won’t go around. Mary has one of these she got in Germany when she was stationed abroad.<\/p>\n

She is making it perfect!<\/p><\/div>\n

Bob got a big kick out of all the fussing going on around him. Serious discussions on where everything should go.\u00a0 Being a boy is easy; you just put it anyplace!<\/p>\n

Always a smile<\/p><\/div>\n

Time to sit back and examine the hours of fine work.\u00a0 A sip of vino, and everything looks great!<\/p>\n

The serious look, I must be in trouble again!<\/p><\/div>\n

We took a few pictures before we departed for the birthday dinner at Patty’s.\u00a0 I was in no condition to drive, much less to walk, but I managed to get to the car.\u00a0 I was initially foisted into the trunk, but after explaining I was scared of the dark, they let me ride in the back seat…if I promised to behave.<\/p>\n

Looks great!<\/p><\/div>\n

Those two wreaths on the back of the couch had traveled 1000+ miles on Sue’s wheelchair.\u00a0 In fact, we wore out one wheelchair and had to replace it.\u00a0 Sue has used the wheelchair since 1999, almost twenty-one years.<\/p>\n

I am pleased with the results.<\/p><\/div>\n

The house is now ready for Christmas.\u00a0 Tomorrow we are going to attack Mary’s house and put up Christmas.\u00a0 It’s exciting as I get to help make Christmas come alive in two locations this year.<\/p>\n

Decorated at last!<\/p><\/div>\n

We are tired and hungry, so it is off to Patty’s Place for dinner!\u00a0 Chuck was not on duty tonight, so a new gang suffered through us.\u00a0 Dinner, I was told, was wonderful.\u00a0 Here we are doing dessert.\u00a0 I am surprised the owner didn’t come by and put a bag over my head so I would not scare the other people who were dining.\u00a0 That there is a face only a mother could love; a mother dinosaurs.<\/p>\n

Yes, I am toasted, but it’s OK as Bob drove this evening.<\/p><\/div>\n

The girls were having a great evening of visiting and laughing.\u00a0 Their smiles and banter back and forth were infectious.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a>

I am so lucky!<\/p><\/div>\n

They did NOT offer me any more wine, but that was probably a good thing.\u00a0 I was toasted.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a>

One for the road!<\/p><\/div>\n

One of the “regulars” who knew us took this picture and sent it to Chuck.\u00a0 I apparently planted my face on the table for about 30 minutes.\u00a0 I found dinner in the frig the next morning, untouched.\u00a0 But that was OK as I made it through the day, a day I thought would be horrible. Mary giggled all the way home.\u00a0 On the bright side, she did not need her mirror to put on her lipstick; the top of my head provided an ample reflection.<\/p>\n

Poppy did a face plant, one too many glasses of vino!<\/p><\/div>\n

I did learn a lesson…<\/p>\n
