What do you call weight loss mantras? Fat chants!<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n

I was up and going early this morning as I had an 8:00 AM appointment with the Dermatologist.\u00a0 Well, it turns out my back is fine, but he took five new biopsies in my neck and hands.\u00a0 What is happening?\u00a0 I will know in about a week, and I come back to see him in three weeks.<\/p>\n

At home, I did my paperwork that was piling up.\u00a0 I opted to extend by driver’s license one year because of the COVID mess.\u00a0 With great pain, I paid the quarterly estimated taxes!\u00a0 I found a few other minor bills and paid them on-line, so now the office is free of nagging paper, yes!<\/p>\n

The kitchen needed a quick pass through as the cleaning folks come about 11:00 AM.\u00a0 All science projects were found and eliminated, plus I stocked my refrigerator with wine (I offered Luisa a glass of wine yesterday and found there was zero wine in the fridge).<\/p>\n

It was approaching 10:30 AM, so the Grey Ghost and I zipped over the Hoff’s Hut and found a table and awaited Miss Robin.\u00a0 We yakked for forty-five minutes, planned out the next week, and I returned home at 12:15 AM. Robin is going to stay with me Tuesday night and then meet with Luisa to finalize the curtains on Wednesday. We may even go furniture shopping as I need two couches.<\/p>\n

The spinach and cheese omelet was just right!<\/p><\/div>\n

Today was the\u00a0 75th anniversary of the surrender of Japan, ending WWII.\u00a0 The Japanese military leaders climbed aboard the USS Missouri in Tokyo Bay on Sept. 2, 1945<\/p>\n

As I got out of the car, I heard the sound of old airplanes, and sure enough, a flotilla of WWII airplanes flew over the house.\u00a0 There were a dozen or more C53 and other aircraft.<\/p>\n

There were probably ten C53s flying in formation.<\/p><\/div>\n

My mother worked in the Santa Monica Douglas facility during WWII.<\/p><\/div>\n

The C-53 plane, which also participated in the 75th D-Day anniversary in Normandy in 2019, will take off from Long Beach and pass over sites that had connections to the United States war effort: Los Alamitos<\/strong>, the Santa Ana Naval Air Station, the Marine Corps Air Station (El Toro), the WWII Submarine Memorial, the Queen Mary, the USS Iowa, the Santa Monica Airport<\/strong>, the Museum of Tolerance and the Bracket and Ontario airfields.<\/p>\n

Chores are never-ending, but I got a wonderful and unplanned surprise; Mary finished her rounds early, so we are going to BBQ some steaks and have dinner together at Chez’ Mary.\u00a0 Scout will be a happy camper.<\/p>\n

Since Mary had not used it in a long while, I cleverly bought BBQ briquettes, fire starter, matches, etc.\u00a0 I showed up all proud, demonstrating my ability to think ahead when she announced. “It is a propane grill!” Oops!<\/p>\n

We got out the BBQ and cleaned him up!<\/p><\/div>\n

She had the steaks butterflied, and I was worried about them cooking too fast.\u00a0 Well, magic occurred as they came out perfect.\u00a0 She had some stuffed mushroom, my favorites, and they cooked well in the little basket device.<\/p>\n

Steaks and stuffed mushrooms, delightful!<\/p><\/div>\n

The meal came out perfect.\u00a0 Just the right amount of food, and we sat and talked for an hour about stuff: work, kids, family, bucket-lists, whatever popped into our minds.<\/p>\n

A meal fit for a king.<\/p><\/div>\n

After dinner, Mary took the last of the pie to her neighbor and dog sitter while I cleaned up everything.\u00a0 It was a lovely meal and time to visit. I miss the after-dinner conversation time I used to have, just time to share thoughts and feelings of the day.<\/p>\n

We watched a movie, but at 9:00 PM by curfew alarm went off, and I departed for my home since Miss Mary works tomorrow.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
