The patron saint of poverty is St. Nickeless.<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n

Yesterday’s walk must have pooped me out as I arose about 7:30 AM, pretty late for me.\u00a0 Today is chores day, so I did wash, searched the frig for science projects, watered the plants, and other necessary things.<\/p>\n

Greg popped by for a while, and we talked.\u00a0 He discovered three quarts of gin in his place and brought them to the alcohol disposal unit, me!\u00a0 Since Greg no longer drinks, keeping them here is a good thing to do.<\/p>\n

Colleen and I talked on the Bat Phone for quite a while.\u00a0 She brightens up my day; I always need a “Colleen Fix.”<\/p>\n

My ring is three longs and a short!<\/p><\/div>\n

Greg popped over for a short visit around 10:00 AM.\u00a0 We talked about our losses and what the future portends.\u00a0 I am going to ask him to join me for my morning walks to get him out and about.<\/p>\n

At 11:30 AM, Luisa came by, and we talked about our mutual friends, family, and draperies.\u00a0 She has some excellent ideas and told me about the latest trends.\u00a0 The front room is going to be first on the list with the vertical blinds being replaced by a solid color lined drape with sheer panels so the light can be filtered.\u00a0 Luisa had some great ideas.\u00a0 We are going to meet next Wednesday at 11:00 AM with Robin to get Robin’s blessing as my decorating skills are, let’s say, minimal at best.<\/p>\n

New window\/door treatments are underway!<\/p><\/div>\n

I took a look at myself in the mirror, and it was horrible; I looked like the Adorable Snowman…oops, correction, Abominable Snowman.\u00a0 The Grey Ghost said no longer would he allow me to steer if I remained looking like the shaggy dog, so I found a barber!<\/p>\n

A full-sized mattress could have been stuffed with all the hair that came off this head.\u00a0 Being smart, I immediately headed to the bathroom scale after getting home, and another half-pound removed from this magnificent specimen.<\/p>\n

Vicky visited the neighborhood pool, so we sat around and solved the problems of the world.\u00a0 She is a swell lady who I enjoy talking to, and am thankful she is my next-door neighbor.\u00a0 I know how lucky I am to have wonderful friends and a fantastic support group. We talked a bit about the holidays and the seasons are coming.\u00a0 Halloween is just sixty days away meaning Christmas is 120 days away, four months!<\/p>\n

The holidays are almost upon us!<\/p><\/div>\n

Mary texted me around 4:30 PM, and I offered to take her to dinner, but she wanted to visit Scout, so I offered to pick up dinner and meet her at home.\u00a0 She had an excellent idea, rainbow trout from The Fish Company.\u00a0 Agreement made!<\/p>\n

My pickup from The Fish Company was easy, and I was on the road with an ETA of 6:00 PM at Mary’s.\u00a0 Using my time wisely, I called Miss Robin, and we are doing Hoff’s Hut for lunch in the morning.<\/p>\n

The Ghost and I arrived at 6:00 PM, and Mary has set up the patio already.<\/p>\n

Scout was happy to see us.\u00a0 This dinner is our idea of a “Happy Meal.”<\/p><\/div>\n

After dinner, we did a “Meals On Wheels” thing.\u00a0 We took Blackberry Pie to David and Diane and visited them for a while.\u00a0 David and I chattered the whole time.\u00a0 We have a fair amount of knowledge in common.\u00a0 I was the party-pooper because, at 8:00 PM, it was my curfew.\u00a0 Mary has a long day on Wednesdays, so we left, returning Mary home, and the Grey Ghost and I headed west.<\/p>\n

Having dinner not alone is a nice change!<\/p><\/div>\n

It was early, not even 8:45 PM as I neared home, so I decided to stop and see Chuck at Patty’s Place.\u00a0 Of course, John was there, so we talked and told war stories until about 10:00 PM, at which time I headed home to watch a little TV.<\/p>\n

John and I had a drink before I headed home.<\/p><\/div>\n

I spoke to Lee while driving home to see how her first day of Kindergarten went with her granddaughter.\u00a0 Lee was amazed at how much the kindergarteners know about the computer and Zoom.\u00a0 It is a new day!<\/p>\n

At home, I had my cup of coffee to slow me down and watched the pool and listened to Rocky Mountain Retreat on Alexa, my relaxation music these days.<\/p>\n

I thought about Sue a lot this evening and found this picture of her at the Trump Golf Course during a wine and beer tasting event.\u00a0 We had gone with the Zaitz in 2016, and of course, we had our wine tasting garb on. Sue’s necklace was made from stretched teaspoons.\u00a0 She had a gift for picking unusual jewelry.\u00a0 She is so missed.<\/p>\n
