Time for the Grey Ghost to go to the spa and get his oil changed!\u00a0 We were off and running at 7:30 AM to Cerritos Auto Mall, and while he is getting prettied up, I mosied over to the Lexus dealer and went shopping. It seems like a nice Lexus ES350h is in my future, and the future is likely my birthday!<\/p>\n

My birthday present this year to me!<\/p><\/div>\n

When I arrived home, I received a text message containing a photo that overwhelmed me with emotions. Sue was not able to witness or hold her newborn grandchildren, Emerson and Emylou, who are only a few weeks old at the moment. The message on the shirt in the photo made me emotional and brought me to tears. I now realize that it is okay to cry.<\/p>\n

“HAND PICK FOR EARTH BY MY GREAT GRANDMA IN HEAVEN”<\/p><\/div>\n

After cleaning up, I met Mary at her house, and we drove to Banning so she could check up on Annie, her long time friend.\u00a0 Because of COVID, I went to the shopping center and walked around in the 100-degree heat.\u00a0 4,500 steps in the heat worked as I am in the 186 range now.<\/p>\n

Banning is surrounded by vast open countryside!<\/p><\/div>\n

I arrived back home around 5:30 PM, and Mary prepared dinner while I helped out as much as possible. Later, we watched “Run Away Bride” and had a good laugh before I left at 8:00 PM. It was heartwarming to see Mary go out of her way to visit a long-time friend, take care of their health-related concerns, and even bring a bag of food. Her kindness and care were truly appreciated.<\/p>\n

Mary and I last December<\/p><\/div>\n

Arriving home, I went through the mail, read a little bit, visited Sue, and finally crashed at about 11:30 PM.\u00a0 I remembered how much Sue loved her dancing, and we would be out three times a week until the last year or so.<\/p>\n
