Add milk, and the cereal starts to absorb the liquid. This puts pressure on the air inside the pockets, causing the &#8220;walls&#8221; to shatter with a snap, crackle, or a pop.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>OK, the noises have given way to a creaking sound of old joints rubbing together as the bathroom is the next stop.\u00a0 The eyes are a little blurry, but the battery-powered toothbrush was activated, making a whirring sound as it receives a big helping of toothpaste before being plunged into the dark recesses of this old body.<\/p>\n<p>It was frightening as the next sight was a mirror containing someone who was foaming at the mouth and whose hair looked like an explosion in a haystack.\u00a0 Mornings are tough around here.<\/p>\n<p>A quick look in the mirror, and it was decided I was presentable.\u00a0 Checklist:\u00a0 pants, shirt, shoes, brushed tooth, and brushed hair&#8230; Now it is coffee time.<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_47666\" style=\"width: 525px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><a href=\"http:\/\/lilesnet.com\/dailydiary\/wp-content\/dailydiary\/uploads\/2020\/07\/eye-exam.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-47666\" class=\"size-full wp-image-47666\" src=\"http:\/\/lilesnet.com\/dailydiary\/wp-content\/dailydiary\/uploads\/2020\/07\/eye-exam.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"515\" height=\"365\" srcset=\"https:\/\/lilesnet.com\/dailydiary\/wp-content\/dailydiary\/uploads\/2020\/07\/eye-exam.jpg 515w, https:\/\/lilesnet.com\/dailydiary\/wp-content\/dailydiary\/uploads\/2020\/07\/eye-exam-300x213.jpg 300w, https:\/\/lilesnet.com\/dailydiary\/wp-content\/dailydiary\/uploads\/2020\/07\/eye-exam-450x319.jpg 450w, https:\/\/lilesnet.com\/dailydiary\/wp-content\/dailydiary\/uploads\/2020\/07\/eye-exam-150x106.jpg 150w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 515px) 100vw, 515px\" \/><\/a><p id=\"caption-attachment-47666\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">My eyes are NOT quite that bad!<\/p><\/div>\n<p>This morning was my yearly eye checkup, and my eye doctor retired on my in December.\u00a0 The new guys seemed pretty regular, Dr. Younger.\u00a0 He knew Dr. Mary Cote, so he had to be OK.\u00a0 Eyes were good, 20-20 in both eyes, and no signs of anything to worry about.\u00a0 They dilated the eyes, so the world was bright.\u00a0 Dark glasses were a necessity on the way home.<\/p>\n<p>Robin was in the office talking to Colleen as they are working on &#8220;Kat&#8217;s Papers&#8221;.\u00a0 My dear cousin was an aspiring writer, although her folks did NOT encourage her.\u00a0 When Sue and I moved Kat into the senior living facility, I went through the house and found some of her work (much of it was destroyed, a long story for another time).\u00a0 \u00a0I gave some of her writings to Robin, and she is in the process of transcribing it to the computer.\u00a0 Colleen was filling in the genealogy questions.\u00a0 In a week or so, it will be available for a draft read.<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_47681\" style=\"width: 573px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><a href=\"http:\/\/lilesnet.com\/dailydiary\/wp-content\/dailydiary\/uploads\/2020\/07\/kat_january_2011-006.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-47681\" class=\"size-full wp-image-47681\" src=\"http:\/\/lilesnet.com\/dailydiary\/wp-content\/dailydiary\/uploads\/2020\/07\/kat_january_2011-006.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"563\" height=\"750\" srcset=\"https:\/\/lilesnet.com\/dailydiary\/wp-content\/dailydiary\/uploads\/2020\/07\/kat_january_2011-006.jpg 563w, https:\/\/lilesnet.com\/dailydiary\/wp-content\/dailydiary\/uploads\/2020\/07\/kat_january_2011-006-225x300.jpg 225w, https:\/\/lilesnet.com\/dailydiary\/wp-content\/dailydiary\/uploads\/2020\/07\/kat_january_2011-006-422x562.jpg 422w, https:\/\/lilesnet.com\/dailydiary\/wp-content\/dailydiary\/uploads\/2020\/07\/kat_january_2011-006-113x150.jpg 113w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 563px) 100vw, 563px\" \/><\/a><p id=\"caption-attachment-47681\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">We visited Kat all the time when she moved into the assisted living facility.<\/p><\/div>\n<p>Next, a &#8220;headshot&#8221; was needed, no, not by my ex\u2014a photographic headshot for the Director&#8217;s job I now have.\u00a0 Time was running out, so a shirt, tie, and a blue sport coat were located and put onto this magnificent body.\u00a0 No time for dress pants, my cleanest pair of blue jeans took care of the bottom; after all, it was a headshot.<\/p>\n<p>Passing by the office on the way out, I asked Robin and Colleen if it were OK to wear jeans and a sport coat.\u00a0 Damn!\u00a0 Two wolf whistles hit my ears simultaneously. The stainless hardware and the Makita tools were ready for them.\u00a0 The impact wrench sure beat their crescent wrenches! They are the parents of three children, Axl (Charlie McDermott), Sue (Eden Sher), and Brick (Atticus Shaffer).<\/p>\n<p>The series is narrated by Frankie, initially an under-performing salesperson at a used-car dealership and later a dental assistant. Her stoic husband Mike manages a local quarry and serves as a stabilizing influence in the family, though Frankie complains about his lack of affection at times. The kids are quite different from one another: oldest son Axl, a popular but lazy teenager, does well in sports but not in academics; daughter Sue is an enthusiastic young teen but chronically unsuccessful and socially awkward, and youngest son Brick is an intelligent but introverted compulsive reader with odd behavioral traits loosely hinted to derive from Asperger syndrome.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"THE MIDDLE - PILOT\" width=\"640\" height=\"360\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/295GnkOx8i4?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>Time for a walk and another couple of miles were added to today&#8217;s exercise.\u00a0 After ending up at home by 7:30 PM, without pause, the hot tube was entered, providing much relief to these aching bones.\u00a0 Six thousand five hundred steps today, so tomorrow Ralph&#8217;s Market shall be the early morning target.<\/p>\n<p>The Keurig looked lonely, so I popped one of Robin&#8217;s coffees into it, pressed the button, and headed to the new shower to wash off and get the jammies on!\u00a0 How wonderful; clean, warm, jammies, and coffee! Two more episodes of &#8220;Middle&#8221; appeared on the TV and it is for sure the neighbors heard me laughing.<\/p>\n<p>Robin is joining us at Joe&#8217;s house tomorrow for movie night, so Joe was notified via text.\u00a0 Tomorrow is a big surprise, and pictures will be provided after the event.
