We had a busy social life with our golf friends, our dance friends, our work friends, and then family.\u00a0 She did not have a jealous bone in her body and welcomed people into our lives.\u00a0 The picture below is Irene, Sie, Kathy, and Vicky at our bi-yearly outing to a Greek restaurant north of Malibu.\u00a0 It is hard to think that Kathy and Sue passed within nine days of each other.\u00a0 It was devastating not only for Ed and me but “The Gang.” Thank you, Sweet Sue, for being you and giving me a beautiful life filled with family and friends!<\/p>\n

There is an ongoing conspiracy between the Sun and my alarm clock!\u00a0 By 6:30 AM every morning, I am up and ready to go. The problem is, I don’t know where to go. This morning, however, I have a purpose. Robin is coming over at 2 PM, so that means the house has to be spotless before she arrives.\u00a0 We are doing a movie night so that means margarita fixings must be ready!\u00a0 It would be perfect if Collen were here to join in!\u00a0 Colleen is the firecracker that lights off the night!<\/p>\n

Texting can be a lot of fun; I spent over an hour bantering back-and-forth with cousin Dave from Louisiana. We talked about 1950s cars, music of our era, family, and other stuff.\u00a0 Great fun!<\/p>\n

By 8:30 AM, I was busy doing “stuff” around the house.\u00a0 I may try to paint the entrance into the house before Robin gets here.<\/p>\n

It’s funny what you notice after seeing something for a month.\u00a0 This morning, I looked at the dining room wall, which is now yellow, and it had a peach-colored lamp next to it; I turned around and looked at the entrance-way wall, which has a peach wall, and it had a yellow light next to it.\u00a0 Needless to say, the lamps changed places with my assistance!\u00a0 Go figure! I used the iPhone to change the colors in their respective light bulbs and voila, everything matches,<\/p>\n

Going through an old box of photos, I found two 8x10s of Sue from our world travels.\u00a0 I got two nice frames for them at the local store and placed them around the house.<\/p>\n

I believe we were on Queen Mary II someplace in the South China Sea on our way to Taiwan just before our evening of ballroom dancing session was to begin.<\/p><\/div>\n

While out shopping, I also got a unique picture frame for the amazing pictures drawn by the little girl down the street.\u00a0 The two images are now in one frame side by side.<\/p>\n

We invited the family to come to pick anytime. Last week they dropped by and got a mess of lemons and the next day, like magic, I got a package of the best tasting lemon bars I have ever had!!!<\/p><\/div>\n

The little girl saw in her eyes what Sue and I had together. When I was with Sue there was always a rainbow! I thought I was the only person who could see it!<\/p><\/div>\n

I placed the works of art into a unique “floating frame” so I can see them every time I go down the hallway.\u00a0 It was nice to see that even a five-year-old could see the love Sue and I shared.\u00a0 We would walk by her house and visit with her and Mom when we saw them outside.<\/p>\n

I also popped into the market and got some margarita mix, so Robin and I will not run out tonight. Now I am ready for Robin’s arrival!\u00a0 We will likely go to lunch first, then walk, and then have a guest!\u00a0 Charlotte may stop by for champagne!\u00a0 Yes!<\/p>\n

I toured the front yard making mental notes of things that need to be done while awaiting Robin’s arrival.\u00a0 I noticed the blossoms on the pomegranate tree are coming on strong!\u00a0 This year I shall try some pomegranate-braised short ribs or pomegranate skirt-steak kebabs.<\/p>\n

I see pomegranates in my future!<\/p><\/div>\n

I then went out front and waited for Robin to arrive and admired the artichokes.\u00a0 It is time to go pick them and add them to tomorrow’s dinner meal!<\/p>\n

It looks like its time to harvest and try the new Instapot!<\/p><\/div>\n

I can see it now!\u00a0 Tomorrow afternoon as a pre-dinner appetizer with a nice glass of vino!<\/p>\n

Just plain yummy!!!<\/p><\/div>\n

The smell of burnt rubber, the screeching of brakes, and a mighty gush of wind indicated that the rocket has arrived! Landing using VFR directly from Corona (the city, not the virus!), Robin made her entrance.\u00a0 When the three police cars came by, I told them a car fitting their description just passed by going very fast.\u00a0 Then I saw Robin’s head pop up behind the steering wheel, it was a close one!<\/p>\n

Robin arrives! The party can start!!<\/p><\/div>\n

We decided Taco Surf was in order today, so we called, placed the order, and drove up to get the meal.\u00a0 While we would normally dine in the park, we thought perhaps a margarita would be warranted so we went home.\u00a0 On the way home, I called Charlotte and said, “come on over, the champagne is flowing!”.<\/p>\n

Mexican food with margaritas! Yeah!<\/p><\/div>\n

Domilita, my cleaning person, made hot sauce for me last week and I used it today.\u00a0 It was not “that hot” but it had a long-lasting flavor.\u00a0 ON a scale of 1-10, I give it a 9.5!\u00a0 Thank you, Domi!<\/p>\n

We hurried as Charlotte was due over at 3:30 for a champagne afternoon.<\/p>\n

Here’s to you! Guzzle, burp, hic!<\/p><\/div>\n

Charlotte was right on time, and we sat with her on the patio for a good hour plus!\u00a0 We killed off a bottle of champagne and solved the problems of the world.\u00a0 Charlotte is a good friend!<\/p>\n

Time for the walk! We did a little over two miles as my sciatica was acting up this afternoon. We stopped many times to look at the decorations and front yards of the neighbors.\u00a0 Lots of ideas came to mind! Tomorrow morning we will do this again and achieve the three-mile goal!<\/p>\n

A little shorter than usual, but we enjoyed it!<\/p><\/div>\n

Robin likes all the yard work our neighbors put into their homes.\u00a0 Because of the water shortage, we have a lot of cacti and succulents in the hood.<\/p>\n

When we got back, we called Colleen on the Bat Phone and talked for an hour, and as soon as we hung up, Lee called, so we spoke to her for another 45 minutes.\u00a0 We plan to visit Lee on Monday and hold an impromptu “staff-meeting” on her front porch in Lake Elsinore.\u00a0 We will be coming back from Temecula where we need to do some wine pickups.<\/p>\n

We finally got to watched “The Hateful Eight,” and it was a little out of my comfort level, but I was interested and did watch it.\u00a0 At its core, Hateful Eight is a murder mystery wrapped in a Western focusing on a group of people with violent pasts being trapped together with disastrous outcomes. The Hateful Eight follows a group of travelers, including a bounty hunter (Kurt Russell) and his prize (Jennifer Jason Leigh) into a stagecoach lodge called Minnie’s Haberdashery to wait out a blizzard.<\/p>\n

Rare in Hollywood; Good actor and a conservative!!!<\/p><\/div>\n

It was 11:00 PM, and I was done!\u00a0 Time for bed.<\/p>\n

I thought about Sue all day and I came upon an exceptional picture of us just moments after we were married in our front room.\u00a0 \u00a0I have no idea what I said, but it is obvious Sue found it funny!\u00a0 She had such a magnificent smile and was a happy, loving person.\u00a0 She managed her wonderful smile even during the last few weeks of her life while being in constant pain.\u00a0 I feel blessed that I spent almost half my life with her.<\/p>\n
