The website contains a load of pictures of us over the past twenty years, so I wandered through it this morning and found us at Bower’s Museum in Santa Ana.<\/p>\n

We visited The Bowers, and today we got a visit from a Terracotta Warrior.<\/p><\/div>\n

I had a good night’s sleep and woke up at 7:00 AM.\u00a0 Then the fatal mistake, I decided to walk, and I had forgotten no kid ever walks to school anymore.\u00a0 The streets were jammed with cars, so I cut the walk short and will resume later on today after the fleets have left the harbor.<\/p>\n

I was ready to eat when I returned from the abbreviated walk,\u00a0 so I tried the Colleen provided “Hello Fresh” package,\u00a0 I did Sue’s “mise en place” thing and was ready to cook!<\/p>\n

Good move! I did not have to panic and find anything!<\/p><\/div>\n

Ok, I followed the directions, and all went pretty well. I did use “too much” sour cream in the mashed potatoes, but I had two containers of fresh sour creme in the refrigerator.<\/p>\n

The prosciutto-wrapped\u00a0chicken was terrific. Prosciutto is made from the hind leg of a pig, also known as ham. The quality of prosciutto is in how it is cured. The outside of the shank is typically rubbed with salt and sometimes spices. This process pulls out the moisture and concentrates the flavor while the ham is slowly air-dried.<\/p>\n

I felt pretty confident based upon watching Sue working in the kitchen for thirty years!<\/p><\/div>\n

I was amazed when the gravy did not turn out because it was too thin. Probably we and my measuring of water into the mixture.\u00a0 \u00a0 I swear, I heard Sue’s voice saying, “Paul! Remember the Wondra?<\/em>“.\u00a0 I instantly saw a vision of Sue using Wondra to make many different dishes more firm.\u00a0 Well, I put a couple of tablespoons of Wondra into the mix and voila, perfect gravy!<\/p>\n

I set the table, opened the blinds, and peacefully enjoyed “my creation.”\u00a0 I also enjoyed the fact that it cost about $10.00 and at a restaurant, it would have been twice that!<\/p>\n

There was plenty, so I dished out a second helping and put it into the frig, ready for tomorrow!<\/p><\/div>\n

Being a neat chef, I cleaned up everything and felt pretty good about myself.\u00a0 It’s 9:00 AM and time to go to work.\u00a0 To the front yard, I wondered, and I spent five hours plus trimming, shaping, pulling weeds, etc.<\/p>\n

I have oranges for two gallons of orange juice, and I willed two 100 gallon barrels with clippings.<\/p><\/div>\n

When I was done, I felt like a 75-year-old man!\u00a0 Everything was stiff, well, almost everything.\u00a0 Oh, wait.\u00a0 I am seventy-five! I did Not finish off my morning walk.\u00a0 I did, however, manage to hit the bed for an hour nap!<\/p>\n

Returning to the yard for round two, the Rocket-1 showed up!\u00a0 Yeah, it was my oldest daughter, Robin!\u00a0 She planned to stay the night with me and visit her sister in the morning.\u00a0 We decided to go to PAtty’s Place and visit Chuck.\u00a0 While there, Robin remembered Colleen’s recommendation on the French onion soup!\u00a0 We had soup!<\/p>\n

Returning home, we watched “The Ranch” and crashed at about 10:00 PM!\u00a0 I stayed up putting finishing touches on the Daily Diary, and I crashed at 11:00 PM.<\/p>\n
