Traveling makes one modest. You see what a tiny place you occupy in the world.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

Dining in the revolving restaurant high over Waikiki Beach, Honolulu (She always made my world go around)<\/p><\/div>\n

I was up at the crack of dawn knowing full well Diane would have her magic coffee pot brewing at 6:00 AM sharp!\u00a0 When I heard the soft “ding” indicating the process had completed, I dashed into the kitchen, grabbing the coffee cup from where I knew I was hiding. Without so much as a drop missing the container, I poured the dark, steamy elixir into the cup, stirred it 17 1\/4 times until it was ready, and boom, my heart started again for another day!<\/p>\n

Paul, Sue, and Diane<\/p><\/div>\n

Collen was second up this morning, and we sat in the den chatting until we heard Diane come down the hallway. We walked some more, cried some more, and awaiting Pat to make his way into the room.<\/p>\n

So, I am sitting there minding my own business when my iPhone gets a hissy-fit going!\u00a0 The security system is going off.\u00a0 It is probably a leaf or bug in front of the lens.\u00a0 No!\u00a0 This time it from the master bedroom.\u00a0 I punched the button and OMG, there is a back shirted person entering the master bedroom through the sliding glass door! Yeah!\u00a0 It works!\u00a0 I thought to myself, “Time to call the cops but wait, that is the phone number of 911?”.\u00a0 \u00a0I waited for 10 seconds more and there he was, my grandson! I forgot he was coming over to install a firestick on the new TV.\u00a0 Dang, I almost called the cops of my grandson!<\/p>\n

Zack is a wonderful young man. Just like his cousin Jon!<\/p><\/div>\n

Grandma Sue with Zachary, a few years back!<\/p><\/div>\n

My keto diet says no bread, but it was a tradition for Sue and me to share a bagel before hitting the road, so, as with tradition, Colleen and I shared the bagel!\u00a0 We headed out at 9:30 AM and got home before 4:00 PM, stopping several places.<\/p>\n

We stopped at a fruit stand and got jalapeno pistachios,\u00a0 did a Wendy’s fly-by for a burger.\u00a0 In all fairness, we left something there for them, do not ask!<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

Then we stopped at McDonald’s and got a Shamrock Shake in memory of Sue, who loved those every year. In all fairness, we left something there for them, again, do not ask!<\/p>\n

Colleen and I talked a lot about growing up and remembering things along the way.<\/p>\n

When we got home, Joe called and dropped off four bales of straw for my gardening activities.\u00a0 He and Charlie visited with us for an hour or so before they had to head home for dinner.\u00a0 Charlie likes my garden and he especially liked the computer-controlled lighting I have in the house!\u00a0 He had the lights changing to all sorts of colors!<\/p>\n

We crashed at about 10:00 PM, and I watched some TV before lights out.<\/p>\n

I can’t get the last moments with Sue out of my mind wondering if there was anything I could have done differently.\u00a0 These feelings of helplessness with dissipate with time.\u00a0 I watched the movie “Midway” and it brought this to mind.<\/p>\n
