Several of our clocks are attached to the internet\/GPS and automatically update but some of the radios are still running on their own and we had to reset them manually. Always a challenge because each one is different. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

We have a full day! We jumped in the car and headed for Mimi’s Cafe for brunch\/lunch with the family! I forgot Mimi’s is a goldmine for their owners on Sunday mornings. We got there early, put our name in and proceeded to the bar for a drinky-poo! Well, the kids arrived right on time so we went to he receptionist who said “Sorry, we called you earlier!”. I reminded her we were at the bar and she apologized and moved us to the front of the line. We were seated in minutes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We had a great meal and lots of fun but I noticed something different about Amy…she looked younger. Indeed, it was her bangs! She always looked fantastic but not mucho grande fantastic!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We had lunch and, as usual, Charlie and Alex were fantastically well behaved! We are sure proud of these two kids…they are doing everything right!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

So we finished off our meal and although I decided NOT to have any dessert, Joe had to have dessert…OK, not exactly what happened. I said “Sure” and Joe said “sure”…dessert was good!<\/p>\n\n\n

Arthur J. Simms (who headed the commissary at MGM Studios in the 1950s), his son Thomas Simms, Brian Taylor, and Paul Kurz opened the first Mimi’s Cafe in December 1978 in Anaheim, California. Bob Evans Farms, Inc. purchased the Mimi’s Cafe restaurant chain (operating under SWH Corporation) in July 2004 for USD$182 million. Mimi\u2019s Cafe was sold to the U.S. branch of Groupe Le Duff, which also owns the La Madeleine restaurants, in February 2013. <\/span><\/em><\/p>\n

Mimi’s Cafe is a wholly owned subsidiary of LeDuff America and was founded by American airman Arthur Simms, who was stationed in France during World War II. He named the restaurant after a French woman he met in a party after the liberation of the country.<\/span><\/em> <\/p>\n\n\n

Then, across the street to Cerritos Center for the Performing Arts with Amy, Joe, Charlie, and Alex! With a cast of award-winning performers from around the world, including Hollywood\u2019s Magic Castle and Las Vegas, the It\u2019s Magic!<\/em> extravaganza leaves audiences speechless and spellbound with sleight-of-hand illusions, stage tricks, and comedy and variety acts. It\u2019s \u201cthe best magic show in town!\u201d cheers the Los Angeles Times.<\/em>Scheduled to perform are Murray Hatfield and Teresa, David & Dania, Les Arnold & Dazzle, Chris Blackmore, Eric Buss, and Yonkany & Anabel. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

We had fun watching the little kids have fun! Charlie and Alex were spellbound and then the giggled and laughed at the silliness of some of the acts!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We departed just before the show let out as we had 28 guests (family & friends) awaiting us at Old Ranch for our monthly dinner-dance. We took the side streets and made it there in about 14 minutes. Everyone was on automatic and our regular seats were saved. We arrived about 5:27 PM…perfect AND the time has change made it so we got to see the course in the daylight!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We arrived just as the music started and some of our folks were already dancing! Our table was empty but it filled up soon!<\/p>\n\n\n\n
