So what if I don’t know what “Armageddon” means? It’s not the end of the world.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Yesterday was great as Sue got to go out and about, see friends, and crash early.\u00a0 10:00 AM and she was still asleep!\u00a0 All up and coffee is served…we sat around the table until noon and decided to go to Mama’s for lunch\/breakfast…hope it is not too crowded!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This photo was taken at Dad’s 25th year celebration with Ralph’s 5, 10, and 25 cent store.\u00a0 Dad started in 1932 and 1957 was 25 years! Seated are Paula, Mom, Dad, and Caroline (Paula’s Mom\/Ralph’s wife), and standing is Ralph David Lebowitz.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ralph was such a great guy.\u00a0 During WWII, he entered the Army just getting in under the age limit.\u00a0 While he was in the service, Dad watched the three stores for him and ever since then they were almost like brothers.\u00a0 He was a GOOD man!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

They got along so well but, alas, all things come to an end. Dad was the buyer for toys, stationary, hardware, and house wares…Ralph took care of everything else.\u00a0 So is it now 1958…the hula-hoop comes out.\u00a0 Dad placed a large order of hula-hoops!\u00a0 They have five stores and dad orders 100 gross of hula-hoops.\u00a0 14,000 plastic rings.\u00a0 Ralph finds out, hits the ceiling and fires Dad on the spot!\u00a0 I remember Dad coming home mid afternoon heart broken.\u00a0 Two days later Ralph is on the phone apologizing and begging dad to come back…they sold 100 gross, 14,000 hoops in a single day! Ralph wanted more!<\/p>\n\n\n

Dad got a title “General Manager” and was never “fired” again…we laughed about that for years!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

So, time for lunch!\u00a0 We tried Mama’s but alas, 35 minute wait so we went to Taco Surf and had a great lunch! It’s funny as Sue and I have driven by it for almost 30 years and just started going there in the past six months…what were we thinking?<\/p>\n\n\n\n
