I started the day with a walk but it was a short one\u2026by the time I got ot the end of the block my right knee was literally killing me so I did and one-eighty and came home.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

We took it easy today with me spending time in the shop again sorting nuts and bolts into proper containers and Sue reading. For lunch, Sue took the broccoli soup fro old ranch and fixed it into a delicious meal simply by adding real broccoli pieces, white beans, and some other “secret ingredients!”<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

We are NOT going to GG tonight as they have horse racing and that was not a lot of fun last year…too much talking and not enough dancing.\u00a0 So, I called Jan Mongel and said we are looking for a place for the “floating crap game”!<\/p>\r\n\r\n

The term may have originated in the 1930s when Benny Binion (later known for founding the downtown Las Vegas hotel Binions) set up an illegal craps game utilizing tables created from portable crates for the Texas Centennial Exposition.<\/span><\/em><\/p>\r\n

The 1950 Broadway musical Guys and Dolls features a major plot point revolving around a floating craps game.<\/span><\/em><\/p>\r\n

In the 1950s and 1960s The Sands Hotel in Las Vegas had a craps table that floated in the swimming pool, as a joke reference to the notoriety of the term.<\/span><\/em><\/p>\r\n\r\n

Jan, of course, said “Sure, I’m in!” so the Finch’s and Thedens met us at Jan’s at 6:30 PM and we stayed until almost 10:00 PM laughing and giggling and talking politics!<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n
