Enough already! It’s time to walk and off we go into the haze.\u00a0 One hour exactly so we did 2.6 miles\/hour today!\u00a0 Not fast but also not a crawl.<\/p>\n

Talk about red.. This mulch was amazingly bright.\u00a0 It stood out almost a block away.<\/p>\n

We watched some TV in the last afternoon and then Paul did some chores in the garden. \u00a0 Before driving to Malarkey’ for our Monday evening seance with Irene Paul put a new car cover on the Avalon (the first one lasted over three years and kept the ol’ gal looking mighty sharp!).\u00a0 He then did some work in the vegetable garden mostly spreading mulch under the side yard trees.<\/p>\n
Random\u00a0 Memories: Here I am calling the 2006 Toyota Avalon “ol’ gal” and I wished I could show the “ol’ gal” to my Dad.\u00a0 Dad has been gone for 48 years and he was quite a car guy!\u00a0 Paul misses his father a lot even after a half-century and remembering back to 1970 is getting harder and harder.<\/span><\/p>\n What would he say if Paul were to tell him he have a car that is twelve years old and it runs great?\u00a0 Dad changed cars every three years because they would wear out!<\/span><\/p>\n What would he say if he saw GPS in action?<\/span><\/p>\n Would he understand the radio coming on instantly and not having to “warm up”?<\/span><\/p>\n If I said “the music is coming from a satellite orbiting above our heads at 22,000 miles” would be believe me?<\/span><\/p>\n If I said “These tires have 60,000 miles on them and they are still good” could he comprehend it?<\/span><\/p>\n “Dad… this car is Japanese!”<\/span><\/p>\n “Dad… did you know I get 30 miles to the gallon on the freeway… oh, Freeway… fast streets that interconnect places in the LA\/OC area!”<\/span><\/p>\n “Dad, every car has power windows and air conditioning!\u00a0 No, really… no fooling!”<\/p>\n Paul would tell his Dad “A V-8 gasoline engine has hundreds of individual parts. An electrical engine has 20. Electric cars are sold with lifetime guarantees and are only repaired by dealers. It will take only 10 minutes to remove and replace an electric engine. Faulty electric engines are not repaired in the dealership but are sent to a regional repair shop that repairs them with robots. Essentially, if your electric “Check Motor” light comes on, you simply drive up to what looks like a car wash. Your car is towed through while you have a cup of coffee and out comes your car with a new engine” He really would have been amazed or think Paul Jr. was crazy~~!<\/span><\/p>\n We all shared a veggie pizza and it was really quite good. We talked and shared stories for a couple of hours before going home. The question of the evening was “What does an aardvark like on its pizza?”\u00a0 The obvious answer?
