<\/a>Seven screws and 5 inches of the support bar were to be removed<\/p><\/div>\n
We departed the house at 6:00 to get to Long Beach Memorial at 6:30.<\/p>\n
<\/a>It was just getting light when we arrived<\/p><\/div>\n
Check-in was pretty easy but parking was “interesting” at best.\u00a0 A few minutes after arriving the text messages began to come in with best wishes.\u00a0 Greg showed up and sat with Paul for a while.\u00a0 Soon after Irene joined us.\u00a0 Sue was called into the pre-op and all went well but then the doctor was asked to “assist” with an emergency so we were an hour late getting started.<\/p>\n
<\/a>They do not allow lipstick in the OR! Sue’s only question was “When can I go home?”<\/p><\/div>\n
The operation began at 9:00 and was over by 10:30.<\/p>\n
<\/a>Jan and Irene kept Paul company!<\/p><\/div>\n
It’s wonderful to have friends and family that care!<\/p>\n
<\/a>Crazy Greg and Brian also supervised Paul during the day!<\/p><\/div>\n
The camera is always around!<\/p>\n
<\/a>Paul passed the time taking goofy pictures<\/p><\/div>\n
The doctor came out and we all jumped up!\u00a0 He said he removed seven screws and some of them could by pulled out by hand!\u00a0 Sue went through everything like a trooper and would soon be in recovery!\u00a0 She was in recovery for several hours awaiting a room!<\/p>\n
Greg had departed to help David and Jan and Brian needed to miss the late afternoon traffic!<\/p>\n
Sue got to the room about 5:00 and Irene and Paul visited.<\/p>\n
She was a but groggy… Duh!… So Paul headed for home about 6:00 and returned at 8:00 and stayed until about 10:00… By then we were all tired!<\/p>\n
When Paul got home he knew our dear friends and neighbors Vicky and Del had been there because we had a blue candle in our walkway… Prayers for Sue and the Doctor and his staff!<\/p>\n
