<\/a>It will be 100 again today! Last of Summer is here!<\/p><\/div>\n
We decided to play only nine holes after checking the temperature at the turn.\u00a0 We could see a lot of “weather activity” over the high desert as evidenced by the large cloud formations over the mountains to the north of Old Ranch.<\/p>\n
<\/a>We played golf and could see the clouds built-up over the high desert<\/p><\/div>\n
We spotted an odd looking duck on the sixth hole.\u00a0 James figured out it was an Egyptian Goose. The Egyptian Goose (Alopochen aegyptiaca) is a member of the duck, goose, and swan family Anatidae. It is native to Africa south of the Sahara and the Nile Valley.<\/p>\n

Common sense took over at the turn (9th hole) and after examining the GPS and determining we had walked\u00a0 1.7 miles in the heat, we went into the clubhouse to cool off!<\/p>\n
<\/a>We did nine holes walking 1.7 miles and it got hot!<\/p><\/div>\n
Paul went to the parking lot to put the golf bags in the car and he noticed a definite change in wind direction and speed.\u00a0 Trees were moving quite a bit and there was dark clouds to the east of Old Ranch.\u00a0 Looked pretty stormy.<\/p>\n
<\/a>Looked like a storm was coming our direction<\/p><\/div>\n
Within a few minutes it felt like rain! What was odd was the temperature went back up and pass the century mark!\u00a0 Storm weather!<\/p>\n
<\/a>When we went into the clubhouse it was 101 degrees and wet with humidity<\/p><\/div>\n
We stayed inside for 90 minutes drinking ice water and diet cokes!\u00a0 We texted Lisa to see if she and the “fleabag”, Jeffery, wanted to come over and get out of the heat.\u00a0 She did and we had a good visit.<\/p>\n
We decided to freshen up at home and go to Patty’s Place in Seal Beach for a cocktail and perhaps a bite to eat!\u00a0 Paul, being on his diet, only had a ribeye steak and he shared the potatoes with Sue.\u00a0 Lisa was at our house so we brought her a steak and two desserts!\u00a0 She is a growing girl!<\/p>\n
Patty’s Place was decorated for Fall (and Halloween).\u00a0 Looked great!<\/p>\n
<\/a>We went to Patty’s Place and Paul downed a steak!<\/p><\/div>\n
Curious, we checked our weather on the iPhone and the radar indicated there was rain over our location.\u00a0 What?\u00a0 No!\u00a0 We went to the door and looked outside.\u00a0 It was raining! Never doubt the radar.<\/p>\n
<\/a>The iPhone radar view was spot-on!<\/p><\/div>\n
The car was getting a bath so we ducked back in for a few more minutes until the cell had passed over us. Well…. At least we did not have the car recently washed!<\/p>\n
<\/a>When we looked outside it had rained!<\/p><\/div>\n
We headed home to feed Lisa and then we watched two movies.\u00a0 Jeffery liked all the attention!\u00a0 Sue did the treadmill!\u00a0 We all crashed!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
