Paul started out with a walk<\/a> before returning home to work a bit in the garden.\u00a0 Visit our garden.<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n

We got cleaned up and get ready for lunch at Thailusion, our local Thai restaurant.\u00a0 Their food is quite delicious and we enjoy the restaurant and staff.<\/p>\n

“What is Thai food? Every country in the world has its own food profile. It reflects its culture, environment, ingenuity and values. In the case of Thailand, these words come to mind: intricacy; attention to detail; texture; color; taste; and the use of ingredients with medicinal benefits, as well as good flavor.
\nWe not only pay attention to how a dish tastes: we are also concerned about how it looks, how it smells, and how it fits in with the rest of the meal. We think of all parts of the meal as a whole – sum rap Thai (the way Thais eat), is the term we use for the unique components that make up a characteristically Thai meal.”<\/p>\n

We ordered “Fireman’s Curry”.\u00a0 Green curry paste prepared with coconut milk and hot sesame oil, bell pepper, basil leaves, cilantro, carrots, button mushrooms, green peas, squash, and Thai chili. This delicious recipe was created by our own fireman and is served at the station during his cooking shift! “Kaeng Pa litterally means “Jungle Curry” or curry paste and whatever is available innature to add.<\/p>\n

Lunch at Thatlusion is always an adventure<\/p><\/div>\n

We came home and did chores and used the treadmill before cleaning up and heading for the Garden Grove Elks.\u00a0 When we arrived Paul saw several antennas set up… It was obviously Amateur Radio field day!\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Field Day is an annual amateur radio exercise, widely sponsored by IARU regions and member organizations, encouraging emergency communications preparedness among amateur radio operators. In the United States, it is typically the largest single emergency preparedness exercise in the country, with over 30,000 operators participating each year. Field Day is always the fourth full weekend of June, beginning at 1800 UTC Saturday and running through 2059 UTC Sunday.<\/p>\n

In the Elks parking lot I saw a lot of antennas!<\/p><\/div>\n

The “ham shack” was open for business!\u00a0 Paul shared stories with the two operators between dances.<\/p>\n

It was Amateur Radio Field Day<\/p><\/div>\n

Jon Destry played this evening and as expected we were well entertained and the music was varied and great!\u00a0 We all had a good time.\u00a0 We were there with the Branders, Zaitz, and Nita.<\/p>\n
