{"id":17818,"date":"2015-02-18T23:35:24","date_gmt":"2015-02-19T06:35:24","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/lilesnet.com\/dailydiary\/?p=17818"},"modified":"2015-02-19T08:45:09","modified_gmt":"2015-02-19T15:45:09","slug":"normal-day-except-for-the-doctor","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/lilesnet.com\/dailydiary\/?p=17818","title":{"rendered":"Normal Day Except For The Doctor!"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Paul had a tough morning with the incessant coughing.\u00a0 We headed for the golf course but alas, Paul decided to stay in the bar (always a dangerous choice) and rest.\u00a0 Sue played nine holes with James and Bullwinkle.<\/p>\n<p>Sue arranged for a doctor&#8217;s appointment at 4:00 and off we went.\u00a0 Excellent choice as Paul had bronchitis.<\/p>\n<p>Bronchitis is an inflammation of the mucous membranes of the bronchi (the larger and medium-sized airways that carry airflow from the trachea into the more distal parts of the lung parenchyma). Bronchitis can be divided into two categories: acute and chronic.\u00a0 Paul was chronic!<\/p>\n<p>Chronic bronchitis, a type of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), is characterized by the presence of a productive cough that lasts for three months or more per year for at least two years. Chronic bronchitis usually develops due to recurrent injury to the airways caused by inhaled irritants. Cigarette smoking is the most common cause, followed by exposure to air pollutants such as sulfur dioxide or nitrogen dioxide, produced by vehicle exhausts\u00a0 and occupational exposure to respiratory irritants.\u00a0 Individuals exposed to cigarette smoke, chemical lung irritants, or who are immunocompromised have an increased risk of developing bronchitis.<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_17819\" style=\"width: 460px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><a href=\"http:\/\/lilesnet.com\/dailydiary\/wp-content\/dailydiary\/uploads\/2015\/02\/pix-doctor-visit.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-17819\" class=\"size-large wp-image-17819\" src=\"http:\/\/lilesnet.com\/dailydiary\/wp-content\/dailydiary\/uploads\/2015\/02\/pix-doctor-visit-450x362.jpg\" alt=\"Our doctor is really fantastic...
