It has been warm so I water the garden a little bit each day and the basil loves it!<\/p>\n

Did You Know:<\/strong> The word basil comes from the Greek ???????? (basileus), meaning “king”,\u00a0 as it has come to be associated with the Feast of the Cross commemorating the finding of the True Cross by St Helena mother of the emperor St. Constantine.\u00a0 Alternatively the herbalist John Gerard noted of basil that those stung by scorpions would feel no pain if they ate of basil.\u00a0 and Nicholas Culpeper notes of basil that it is “a herb of Mars and under the Scorpion, and therefore called Basilicon”,\u00a0 relating it to basilisk. The Oxford English Dictionary quotes speculations that basil may have been used in “some royal unguent, bath, or medicine”. Basil is still considered the “king of herbs” by many cookery authors.<\/p>\n

We played eighteen with James and then was met with a nice surprise… Linda joined us for the happy hour activities.\u00a0 One of the “Bag Men” asked if Paul walked the course.\u00a0 He is about 23 and mentioned he tried to walk nine and gave up!\u00a0 James and Paul walk eighteen three times a week for a total of 16.5 miles!<\/p>\n
