\u201cWhat an astonishing thing a book is. It’s a flat object made from a tree with flexible parts on which are imprinted lots of funny dark squiggles. But one glance at it and you’re inside the mind of another person, maybe somebody dead for thousands of years. Across the millennia, an author is speaking clearly and silently inside your head, directly to you. Writing is perhaps the greatest of human inventions, binding together people who never knew each other, citizens of distant epochs. Books break the shackles of time. A book is proof that humans are capable of working magic.\u201d<\/strong> – Carl Sagan<\/strong><\/p>\n

We stayed home and worked in the garden and cooked.\u00a0 We brought in carrots, beets, and onions and Sue turned them into magic.\u00a0 The winter garden now exists in the back yard… We just have a front and side yard to go!<\/p>\n

Success… We will be harvesting in two months!<\/p><\/div>\n

The black paper is a test to see if the paper mulch works!\u00a0 The straw is the actual mulch we use in the garden and this was left overs from the summer garden!<\/p>\n

At the end of the day, we decided to celebrate (plus we were too tired to cook) so we went to Joe’s Crab Shack in Seal Beach and had a drink plus tried an appetizer.\u00a0 It was fun and kinda romantic just to go out by ourselves!<\/p>\n

Winter in Los Angeles is great… A balmy 65 degrees and clear!<\/p><\/div>\n

Upon coming home, Sue hit the treadmill and Paul pushed the remote buttons.\u00a0 We watch two movies before crashing!<\/p>\n
