We had breakfast at Old Ranch with James before heading to the links to meet up with Charlotte.\u00a0 On the patio, Paul spotted a magnolia with Japanese Beetles on it! The beetle species Popillia japonica is commonly known as the Japanese beetle. It is about 15 millimetres (0.6 in) long and 10 millimetres (0.4 in) wide, with iridescent copper-colored elytra and green thorax and head. It is not very destructive in Japan, where it is controlled by natural predators, but in America it is a serious pest of about 200 species of plants, including rose bushes, grapes, hops, canna, crape myrtles, birch trees, linden trees and others.\u00a0 It is a clumsy flier, dropping several centimeters when it hits a wall.<\/p>\n

They are pretty but annoying<\/p><\/div>\n

We went to play golf and several “amazing things” occurred.\u00a0 One with Charlotte (which we will NOT disclose) and one where James hits his ball while standing on a bridge!<\/p>\n

We then went dancing at the Elks in Garden Grove. Laurraine joined us for the evening.<\/p>\n
