(and &#8220;his nibs&#8221;) is an informal, often sarcastic, and sometimes affectionate British slang term for a woman in authority or someone who acts in a self-important, superior, or demanding manner.\u00a0 It is used like a title of honor, such as &#8220;Her Majesty&#8221; or &#8220;Her Highness,&#8221; to mock or lightly tease someone for their perceived high station or arrogance.<\/div>\n<p>We worked in the office until 9:00 am, then started preparing to receive Miss Colleen.\u00a0 \u00a0 Our daughter is a grandmother, making us great-grandparents.<\/p>\n<p>While Mary took her shower and got ready for the airport run, I fertilized and de-weeded the roses, then watered them using the Hydrawise system (i.e., I control all watering from my iPhone).<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_93768\" style=\"width: 910px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-93768\" class=\"size-full wp-image-93768\" src=\"http:\/\/lilesnet.com\/dailydiary\/wp-content\/dailydiary\/uploads\/2026\/02\/2026-02-08-002-1.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"900\" height=\"506\" srcset=\"http:\/\/lilesnet.com\/dailydiary\/wp-content\/dailydiary\/uploads\/2026\/02\/2026-02-08-002-1.jpg 900w, http:\/\/lilesnet.com\/dailydiary\/wp-content\/dailydiary\/uploads\/2026\/02\/2026-02-08-002-1-650x365.jpg 650w, http:\/\/lilesnet.com\/dailydiary\/wp-content\/dailydiary\/uploads\/2026\/02\/2026-02-08-002-1-150x84.jpg 150w, http:\/\/lilesnet.com\/dailydiary\/wp-content\/dailydiary\/uploads\/2026\/02\/2026-02-08-002-1-768x432.jpg 768w, http:\/\/lilesnet.com\/dailydiary\/wp-content\/dailydiary\/uploads\/2026\/02\/2026-02-08-002-1-100x56.jpg 100w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 900px) 100vw, 900px\" \/><p id=\"caption-attachment-93768\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Thank you, Hydrawise, for making my life easier!<\/p><\/div>\n<p>As I was working, I kept remembering my grandmother, who was moving into an assisted living facility, and we had visited her many years ago (she would have been 141 years old this year).<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 80px;\"><em>We wanted to make sure she was being well cared for, so we had dinner with her at the facility.\u00a0 We said goodbye and planned to visit again the next day!\u00a0 <\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 80px;\"><em>The next morning, the nurses bathed her, fed her a tasty breakfast, and set her in a chair at a window overlooking a lovely flower garden.<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 80px;\"><em>She seemed okay, but after a while, she slowly started to tilt sideways in her chair.\u00a0 Two attentive nurses immediately rushed up to catch her and straighten her up.<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 80px;\"><em>Again, she seemed okay, but after a while, she slowly started to tilt over to her other side.\u00a0 The nurses rushed back and once more brought her back upright. <\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 80px;\"><em>This &#8220;tilt &amp; adjust&#8221; activity apparently went on all morning.\u00a0 Later that day, we went to revisit her to see how Grandma was adjusting to her new home.<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 80px;\"><em>&#8220;So, Gramm, how is it here?\u00a0 Are they treating you all right?&#8221;<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 80px;\"><em>&#8220;It&#8217;s pretty nice,&#8221; she replied.\u00a0 &#8220;Except they won&#8217;t let me fart.&#8221;<\/em><\/p>\n<p>As I walked in the patio door to get ready to go to the airport, I noticed that, in the middle of winter, we have strawberries in our rotary pots.\u00a0 Several of the &#8220;pots&#8221; low\u2014more like &#8220;the dashboard is starting to clear its throat&#8221; low.\u00a0 But the timing was chef&#8217;s kiss: we cruised past the arrival gates like we totally meant to, dipped out onto McArthur Blvd, and found a Standard station.<\/p>\n<p>A quick splash of dinosaur juice later, the Silver Fox was topped off and feeling young again.\u00a0 We headed back to the airport\u2014only half a mile away\u2014and, like magic (or airport sorcery), Colleen appeared right on cue.<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_93775\" style=\"width: 610px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-93775\" class=\"size-full wp-image-93775\" src=\"http:\/\/lilesnet.com\/dailydiary\/wp-content\/dailydiary\/uploads\/2026\/02\/pix-1904.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"523\" srcset=\"http:\/\/lilesnet.com\/dailydiary\/wp-content\/dailydiary\/uploads\/2026\/02\/pix-1904.jpg 600w, http:\/\/lilesnet.com\/dailydiary\/wp-content\/dailydiary\/uploads\/2026\/02\/pix-1904-150x131.jpg 150w, http:\/\/lilesnet.com\/dailydiary\/wp-content\/dailydiary\/uploads\/2026\/02\/pix-1904-100x87.jpg 100w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px\" \/><p id=\"caption-attachment-93775\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">We will be seeing a lot of Joe and Colleen in the next week!<\/p><\/div>\n<p>We picked up Colleen, then we were off to Benjie&#8217;s for brunch.\u00a0 We all had half-pastrami sandwiches and either a cup of soup or a salad.\u00a0 Colleen and I could NOT resist ourselves and went for the rootbeer float.<\/p>\n<div class=\"didYouKnow\">Root beer floats were invented in August 1893 by Frank J.
