We are up and going. We have put away Valentine’s Day decorations and decorated for St. Patrick’s Day. We might surprise the kids returning from Vista around 4:00 p.m. We wondered if they would notice the change in decor\u2014like swapping out the fine art for a life-sized cardboard cutout of Elvis.<\/p>\n
NOTE: Sarah noticed everything immediately, but when asked if he saw anything different, Jon said, “No! What changes?” while sitting next to two bright green lights and a table full of St. Patrick’s Day goodies.<\/p>\n

Be gone, red; welcome, green! Jon was sitting on the couch when I asked him if he had seen anything different from yesterday.<\/p><\/div>\n
While decorating, we lost one coffee cup (from Catalina), so it can be replaced!\u00a0 The garland, tired of being just a decorative piece, decided it was time to \u201cfree\u201d the poor cup hanging on its hook. With a dramatic lift, it sent the cup crashing onto the counter. In its dazed state, the cup muttered, \u201cI didn\u2019t sign up for this rollercoaster ride!\u201d The garland shrugged and replied, \u201cHey, you wanted to spice up your life, didn\u2019t you?\u201d Apparently, \u201cbreaking\u201d out of your routine takes on a whole new meaning!<\/p>\n

The TV room is decorated, and we used the Lifx electronic lights to change the lights to green!<\/p>\n

We had tickets to see Annie at the Segerstrom Theater and asked Dr. Bill and Dru to come along. Mary was a little worried about the weather, so she checked with Alexa and found out there was a very slight chance of rain!<\/p>\n

We were off to the show, and our row H seats in the center were perfect. We needed good seats so we could hear the little girls perform. Dr. Bill and Dru knew each other from previous events; they were fun to be around.<\/p>\n

The show was fantastic. The musical Annie is about an orphan named Annie who escapes from an orphanage to find her birth parents. Annie is a strong-willed optimist who finds hope in a new day.<\/p>\n

Themes: Finding hope in a new day, The strength of the human spirit, and The importance of family.<\/p>\n

A Magnificent Performance!<\/p><\/div>\n
After the show, we headed home as we had planned a family get-together since Jon and Sarah were going home tomorrow night.\u00a0 I ordered pizza from the local Buccaneer Pizza place, and, as usual, it was fantastic.\u00a0 I may have overachieved a bit, according to Mary!\u00a0 In my defense, I ordered online and in the dark as the house lights were dimming for the show!<\/p>\n
Joe showed us his superpower, making pizza disappear!<\/p>\n

The guys moved the stationary bike from the downstairs bedroom to the loft so I could ride while Mary painted! Joe found Mary’s stash of St Patrick’s Day hats, and the results were captured on film for everybody to see.<\/p>\n

After everyone departed, Jon and I announced that were were going to check for light leaks in our eyes; translation, we were going to hit the sack.\u00a0 Within minutes, the house was quiet and except for the green lights, all was dark.<\/p>\n

We are practicing out Irish for the next few weeks!<\/p><\/div>\n
By day both were the same, woke up early – sprayed myself in the face with cold Evian water to get my eyes open check out the room service delivery for that wake-up coffee and look outside to get the best view and pictures of the Fjords and Sarmiento Channel mountain range (Andes). Maggie is taking most of the pictures from our balcony cabin as the camera on her phone and her photographic eye is superb to mine. Both days were cold, windy and rainy, ship rocking all night, late movie nights and up and going early. Although it is summer time here, the high temp. on Feb. 23 was, 56 degrees (or 13c as it read on my TV). On Monday Feb. 24 the high temp was 47 degrees (8c). As I stated earlier, the lower we travel\/cruise to, the colder it is. Summer ends in April, then the fall season will begin. It strange as the humidty level is high but I can’t feel it… the cold, windy, rainy weather trumps humidity!<\/p>\n
Maggie and I know to keep ourselves busy, with line dance class in the morning, brisk walks around the deck and a spa pass to the hydra pool, for daily water-body therapy where we surprisingly have little to no- other guests in the spa when we are there. On the 23rd I had a start-of-the art facial and much needed manicure paid for by my winnings in the casino the previous night. We then went to see the comedian on the main stage. Can’t recall his name at this moment but he was approx. the same age as Maggie and I (on the below 62 age group)… he was o.k. as a comedian. As the ship staff is combating norovirus at the moment, Maggie and I sat in the front row to avoid anyone who might be infected. We became the center of attention for about 5 minutes as he interacted with mostly her and came up with some fun jokes about how long we have known each other and their shared mixed heritage. The majority of the jokes, mostly age related were not received well, by the mostly over the age of 70 crowd.<\/p>\n
Entertainment on the 24th was in the Rolling Stone Lounge where we danced to two sets of disco & rock songs, followed by our exit out singing “Don’t Stop Believin” by Journey with our favorite bartenders behind the bar. It was fun to see the young Vietnamese guy who sat between the two of us on our flight in to South America from LAX singing quite well in English – his name is Jo-el and for a very brief 10 seconds on our 11 hour turbulent flight, became my knight in shining armour after rescuing my missing flip-flop from way under his seat in the very dimly lit airplane. I gave him a big tip at the bar! He is doing an excellent job on his first contract with a cruise ship. Next stop, Punta Arenas, Chile (Patagonia).<\/p>\n
