All remains dark!!\u00a0 No lights, no power, no heat, and NO COFFEE!\u00a0 Edisons broadcast\u00a0 said perhaps 9:00 pm tonight!<\/p>\n
Mary, being the smarty-pants that she is, lit off the stove with a thing called a match, so we had hot tea…not quite coffee but close enough.<\/p>\n
Jeff was worried about running out of power for his oxygen machine, so I got his backup battery and took it to his son’s place of work to charge it. Pam, Jeff’s daughter, will pick it up after lunch when it is charged and ready to go.<\/p>\n
On the way back, I stopped at Dunkin’ Donuts and got us a bagel and a latte!<\/p>\n
We got ready to go to the Elks for Girls’ Night Out and arrived on time. We had a good lunch but some bad news: We got a call from Bill Capps, and Mary had passed away that morning early. We were asked not to say anything, so we were quiet. Bob Z. knew, but we said nothing to anyone else around.<\/p>\n

We got lunch for Jeff since he also is without power.<\/p>\n

We called the heart doctor about the test results on the way home.<\/p>\n
More bad news!\u00a0 The test revealed I have two heart arteries with 70% blockages, so I will quickly undergo an angiogram.\u00a0 An angiogram is a test that uses X-rays to look for narrowing or blockages in coronary arteries, which supply blood to the heart.<\/p>\n
Once they locate the blockages, they hope to perform an angioplasty. If a blockage is found, a balloon may be passed through the catheter and expanded to widen the artery. A mesh tube called a stent may then be placed to keep the artery open.<\/p>\n
If they cannot do a stent, it may require another open-chest surgery.\u00a0 \u00a0It is what it is!<\/p>\n
The house was still dark when we got home, so we decided to fire up the generator. This generator can supply 8,000 watts, enough to power the whole house.<\/p>\n

I was gassing up the generator so it could run all night long.<\/p><\/div>\n
I bought this unit from Shaun Ward years ago, and it has performed many miracles, including running the house when the power went out two Thanksgivings ago!<\/p>\n

The generator is hugging right along!<\/p><\/div>\n
We ran a cord into the house for the main refrigerator, and Mary went to check the other two boxes: one for a deep freeze and one for our overflow refrigerator.<\/p>\n

Robin arrived at 5:00 p.m., and we decided to dine at Renada’s in the Orange Circle. We ordered some dessert for Jeff, and we had a super dinner. During dinner, we got a text from Jeff: POWER WAS BACK ON!\u00a0It took them 36 hours!<\/p>\n
When we returned home, we watched parts of the last episode of LOST.\u00a0 I say “parts” because we fell asleep several times.<\/p>\n
