Lookout, pumpkins, here we come!!<\/p><\/div>\n

We were up early to get ready for everyone to join us for the annual pumpkin carving activity.\u00a0 Robin reminded us that this was her 34th year of partaking in the fun!\u00a0 We started back in 1987.<\/p>\n

We took the easy way out this time. We called the local pizza joint, which is outstanding.\u00a0 The pizzas were delivered almost too hot to handle!<\/p>\n

Did we say lunch??<\/p><\/div>\n

Cleaning the insides with a scoop is so 1990s. We’ve gone battery-powered, adding a kitchen mixer blade to the Makita drill, and off we go. Seeds and pumpkin guts go everywhere, and they’re cleaned out in a flash!<\/p>\n

Paul gets the heavy-duty pumpkin cleaner out.<\/p><\/div>\n

After opening the pumpkins and cleaning out one or two, the control is passed to the newer generation, and our son Joe takes over. He is a master pumpkin cleaner, and he might even give up his day job!<\/p>\n

Joe takes over when Paul poops out.<\/p><\/div>\n

We had a lot of teens with us, and they were having a good time. Watch in amazement as we perform miracles, getting teenagers to work!<\/p>\n

Charlie’s lady friends was teased by Grandpa.\u00a0 While putting food on her plate, she reached for the decorative paper napkins, and I yelled across the table at her, “No!\u00a0 No! Please do not use the expensive napkins!<\/em><\/strong>”\u00a0 She had that “deer in the headlights” look and quickly tried to put the napkin back.\u00a0 Everyone knew Grandpa was teasing but her.\u00a0 I did feel bad afterward, but I will do it again on some unsuspecting person!<\/p>\n

The teens go wild.<\/p><\/div>\n

Mary did her pumpkin in about four minutes flat; she cheated!\u00a0 Mr. Froggy always returns to the scene of the crime.<\/p>\n

No wonder she did it so fast!<\/p><\/div>\n

The intensity of the work underway was quite impressive. Pumpkin guts and seeds flew everywhere, and decorating tools, including battery-powered saws, were whizzing away. It sounded like a freeway construction site.<\/p>\n

The Lind contingent adds to the fun!<\/p><\/div>\n

Robin and Pete were concentrating on their works of art.<\/p>\n

Pete and Robin are going to town on their works of art!<\/p><\/div>\n

It was the kids versus the adults (we do not know which is which) at the table.<\/p>\n

aisley gets into the swing of things.<\/p><\/div>\n

Then, as if by magic, we were done, and the artists’ masterpieces were displayed.<\/p>\n

The artists and their work!<\/p><\/div>\n

We visited for another hour, and by 6:00 p.m., the house was again quiet as a graveyard\u2014no pun intended.<\/p>\n

Mary and I said goodbye and gave everyone additional pumpkins to decorate their homes. It was a wonderful family day!<\/p>\n
