Well, Pilgrim, that is not going to happen!<\/p><\/div>\n

We kicked off the day with a game of hide-and-seek. Chuck and Lisa, our incredible friends and caterers, decided to explore the garden to see what we could pick on the event day. Their excitement was so contagious that the garden plants played hide-and-seek, too!<\/p>\n

We decided there would be tomatoes in something, even the cocktails.<\/p>\n

\"\"

We will see a tomato salad shortly.<\/p><\/div>\n

The suppliers came at noon and set everything up in about two hours! We expected about 60 people for the shindig and needed a dance floor and overhead lighting. Steve Dudek is coming to play for us.<\/p>\n

This party is for Irene, and she made the guest list, which includes some folks from Wisconsin who are flying in for the weekend.<\/p>\n

The business end of the setup is underway!\u00a0 This is where “the skit of the century” will be performed, led by Super Jim and hopefully followed by the rest of us?!<\/p>\n

On the patio, Bob is finishing the kitchen ceiling and putting the final touches on the new handrails. Chuck is checking everything out, including the BBQ area and the meal setups.<\/p>\n

Thank goodness for Scout, The Wonder Dog, who provides the adult supervision.\u00a0 He knows for sure the party is just for him and that everyone will pet him and tell him how pretty he is!<\/p>\n

We are 99% set up, and we have tested the lights and plug-ins for Steve’s instruments, so we are good to go!<\/p>\n

Everything is almost set up.<\/p><\/div>\n

The bar is set up, but with this group, it will not be busy!\u00a0 We talk about drinking, but alas, at our age, one sniff of a cork and we are in la la land!<\/p>\n

Jan’s bar is at the ready (Too bad Jan refuses to leave her house)<\/p><\/div>\n

Maria (Irene’s daughter), Robin, and Vicky continue their secret plans and set up the table decorations.\u00a0 Oh my, perhaps we should notify the local police department.<\/p>\n

At 2:00 pm, the workers show up for table decorations and last-minute coordination.<\/p><\/div>\n

We needed fresh citrus for the bar, so the bartender’s long arm went to work. Jim, our neighbor, told us to pick the oranges anytime. It seems like Jim’s oranges were the talk of the town! I hope he won’t start charging us for them, or we’ll have to squeeze every last drop out of our budget!<\/p>\n

Done! It’s time to relax. Chuck, Lisa, and Robin headed to a restaurant. Mary and I rested and finally decided to go to In’ N’ Out for a burger!<\/p>\n

Let’s stop and eat.<\/p><\/div>\n

We all got home after dark, and we were tired.\u00a0 I sat out by the firepit (without the fire one), and finally, around 10:00 pm, Mary wandered out and retrieved me.<\/p>\n
