Mary keeps making fun of me for fussing at the TV!<\/p><\/div>\n

I got up at 6:00 am and woke Mary up saying, “It’s time for the Sunday Car Show!!\u00a0 Hurry, get ready!”\u00a0 Soon thereafter, receiving a bop on the head, I realized it was Saturday… I was a day early.\u00a0 I slithered back into bed and slept for two more hours.\u00a0 Now I know why they call me “The Eager Beaver!”<\/p>\n

Today, we just veggied out and prepared for the arrival of Robin and Bob.\u00a0 Mary made her world-famous turkey sandwiches, and I assisted by taking three inches of water out of the pool in preparation for the predicted deluge we were expecting.<\/p>\n

I asked Mary, “Can a turkey jump higher than the Empire State Building?”\u00a0 She was puzzled, so I answered, “Of course! Buildings can\u2019t jump.”\u00a0 \u00a0I will recover after a few days rest!<\/p>\n

The first bite is a bit difficult, but after that, it gets easier.<\/p><\/div>\n

Mary also thawed out some homemade tomato soup; we were ready to feast this evening while the water levels were rising!<\/p>\n

I sat by the TV watching the weather predictions, and in fact, we called the vet to see if we could rent another “Scout” so we could walk onto the Ark two-by-two.\u00a0 I did notice the weatherman was pretty ugly!<\/p>\n

Mary made fun of me!<\/p><\/div>\n

As the forecast grew worse, I put on my thinking cap and came up with a brilliant idea: Let’s practice swimming before the downpour hits.<\/p>\n

Plop plop fizz fizz, into the water we went.\u00a0 The “fizz” was from an old AlkaSelzer I had in my swimsuit!\u00a0 I like to throw pieces on the ground at the beach and watch the birds!<\/p>\n

We practiced for over an hour and declared ourselves ready for the cloudburst.<\/p><\/div>\n

Mary loved the idea of nice warm water!<\/p>\n

Scout just shakes his head and worries that people will think he is related to us!<\/p>\n

Scout thinks we are losing it.<\/p><\/div>\n

After the swim, I went to the market with two grocery lists: one for us and one for Jeff.\u00a0 I brought back a four-pound chuck, which I plan to cut into one-inch cubes and brown tomorrow, throwing in some onions, potatoes, carrots, and finally some peas.\u00a0 Beef bourguignon is my favorite dish to cook, especially on a cold rainy day!<\/span><\/p>\n

The kids came over, and we devoured the homemade tomato soup and a mess of turkey sandwiches.\u00a0 Bob even finished his tomato soup!\u00a0 We also took a plate\/bowl over to Jeff.<\/p>\n

Robin was recovering from some facial surgery, so I did not point the camera in her direction for fear of losing an arm or leg.<\/p>\n
