Times Change!<\/p><\/div>\n

If your electric car runs out of power on the interstate, do you walk to a charging station to get a bucket of electricity?<\/strong><\/p>\n

I woke up at 6 am, drank coffee, took a shower, and headed to the gym. I have an “interview” at the gym today, which Mary gifted me for Christmas. She wants me to join her, and if I do, I’ll be able to achieve my goal of reaching 185 pounds by March 15th.<\/p>\n

To ensure my success, I will carry “To-Go Boxes,” order iced tea instead of wine, and stay away from the candy jar by at least 6 feet at all times.<\/p>\n

After the gym, we headed to\u00a0 Imperial Jewelers to get some goodies looked at for insurance purposes.<\/p>\n

I have been doing business with them for almost 35 years!<\/p><\/div>\n

We got everything done and learned some things along the way.\u00a0 From Imperial, we raced home, thinking the entire way it would be easier with Santa’s Sleigh, having a sandwich Mary made earlier, and then got ready to depart for Newport Beach and the 115th annual boat parade.<\/p>\n

We have a table on the bay so we can dine and watch the boats float by.<\/p><\/div>\n

We headed southwest to the legion at 3:00 pm because of the expected traffic going to the parade.\u00a0 We walked for a while before going inside.<\/p>\n

Mary is a member of the American Legion due to her eight years of service in the US Army.<\/p><\/div>\n

Post 291 was founded in 1924 by a group\u00a0of thirty World War I veterans who were residents of the Newport Harbor area. They held an organizational meeting in the quarters of the Balboa Chamber of Commerce. The group elected as their first Commander, Raymond Hitchcock Brunswick.<\/p>\n

We departed the house at 3:00 pm in order to get parking at the Legion.\u00a0 It was an excellent plan, and we drove right up to the building and parked.<\/p>\n

Karyn, Mary’s neighbor for years, joined us this evening.\u00a0 She was a hoot!<\/p>\n

How do you help someone who has lost their Christmas spirit? Nurse them back to elf.<\/p>\n

The Christmas trees inside the building were decorated with a patriotic theme!<\/p>\n

What’s red and white and falls down chimneys? Santa Klutz!<\/p>\n

I was surrounded by beautiful ladies this evening!<\/p>\n

The boats are starting to line up!\u00a0 The parade begins formally at 8:00 pm and run around the entire bay.<\/p>\n

Frosty was looking good!<\/p><\/div>\n

The boats floated right by us; it was a delightful evening.\u00a0 We lost count of how many boats there\u00a0 was in the parade this evening.<\/p>\n

They were making good time!<\/p><\/div>\n

We left for home at 9:30 pm, with Karyn driving as I had one extra drink. Thank you, Karyn!<\/p>\n
