Thank you,\u00a0 Mary,\u00a0 for giving me the remarkable memories of yesterday, the overwhelming happiness of today, and the sweet promise of all the days to come on our 2nd wedding anniversary.<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n

Today, we woke up early as we have to get ready for the party tomorrow. Additionally, we have made plans to dine at Patty’s Place in the evening.<\/p>\n

Chuck and Lisa rushed around gathering gather some last-minute items while Colleen visited her mother at the hospital.<\/p>\n

Mary went to the garden to pick fresh vegetables for tomorrow’s dinner, and they don’t\u00a0 get any fresher than this.<\/p>\n

\"\"We plan never to get old!!<\/p>\n

We have a lot of tomatoes, as well as plenty of peas and beans. It’s a good opportunity to set up a small stand outside and advertise in the local paper.<\/p>\n

An apple a day keeps the doctor away.\u00a0 An orange a day keeps the plumber away.
\nBasically, if you throw fruit at people they go away.\u00a0 (Note to self: never eat apples!!!)<\/p>\n

Mary went picking for the party!<\/p><\/div>\n

While Mary was picking, I went to Home Depot and purchased bug spray for the backyard, four bottles of propane fuel, and some flowers to replace the dying ones in the vertical towers.<\/p>\n

I swung by the flower shop to pick up some roses for Mary on our anniversary.\u00a0 She adores them, and I love her!\u00a0 We have a perfect marriage and enjoy going out to dinner!\u00a0 Mary goes on Mondays and Wednesdays, and I go on Tuesdays and Thursdays!<\/p>\n

Papa brought Mary a dozen roses for each year she has put up with him!<\/p><\/div>\n

While we were tending to our front yard, the delivery team arrived with necessary items, including tables, chairs, tents, and lighting.\u00a0 We gave them the map that we had pre-arranged, and they promptly started their task.<\/p>\n

Beep!\u00a0 Beep!\u00a0 The delivery truck has arrived.<\/p><\/div>\n

After ninety minutes, the yard was almost ready.\u00a0 We will adjust the lighting tonight to ensure we have covered everything.\u00a0 Dancers need proper lighting so we can see our feet.\u00a0 We have no outlets in the back yard so we got a giant hampster wheel, and we are training Scout to run in the cage!<\/p>\n

Caution: Bring flashlights just in case!<\/p><\/div>\n

The tablecloths go on tomorrow afternoon so that they will be fresh!<\/p>\n

The setup is underway!<\/p><\/div>\n

At 3:00 pm, we stopped and got ready to head to Patty’s Place in Seal Beach.\u00a0 At 4:30 pm, we stopped briefly at Boot Barn so Colleen could exchange her boots, but it didn’t work out.\u00a0 We reached Patty’s one minute late, but they could adjust the tables since only ten of us came instead of the expected sixteen.\u00a0 Dinner started soon after.<\/p>\n

We first met, got married, and have been celebrating our anniversaries here.\u00a0 This place must hold a special meaning for us.<\/p>\n

We got underway immediately.<\/p><\/div>\n

Lisa’s aunt, Aunt Julie, joined us.\u00a0 She and Paul were around the same age, so there were plenty of lively exchanges between them.\u00a0 Aunt Joyce is quite the character!<\/p>\n

Lisa introduces Aunt Joyce to the gang; she may never be forgiven!<\/p><\/div>\n

Mary and I reminisced about our first meeting here.\u00a0 She was very young, and I had a rather unsightly beard then.\u00a0 Lord only knows why she asked me for a second date!\u00a0 (I’ll get in trouble for this one!)<\/p>\n

Be careful, Paul; she may take advantage of you!<\/p><\/div>\n

Lisa, Chuck, and Aunt Joyce had a fantastic evening, despite Paul’s constant harassment throughout the night.<\/p>\n

Chuck spent time visiting the regular.<\/p><\/div>\n

We were fortunate to have Rosemary as our caregiver; she is charming and brilliant.\u00a0 We truly value her ability to think on her feet and make witty remarks.\u00a0 We can’t figure out how she also serves us and does the cooking!<\/p>\n

You go, girl!<\/p><\/div>\n

Bob and Robin were their usual festive selves, and we couldn’t imagine a party without them.\u00a0 Colleen was the cherry on top of the whipped cream – a perfect addition to the celebration.\u00a0 It was a great night!<\/p>\n

I love my daughter; Bob is just amazing, astonishing, astounding, beguiling, bewildering, conspicuous, cool, divine, egregious, enigmatic, exceptional, exquisite, extraordinary, fabulous, fantastic, fascinating, formidable, gilt-edged, glorious, golden, groovy, heavenly, immense, incomprehensible, inconceivable, incredible, indescribable, ineffable, legendary, magnificent, marked, marvelous, miraculous, mythical, notable, noteworthy, noticeable, of the mark, outlandish, outstanding, peachy, phenomenal, portentous, prodigious, puzzling, rare, remarkable, sensational, signal, splendid, splendiferous, staggering, sterling, strange, striking, stupefying, stupendous, super, superb, supereminent, superexcellent, superfine, superior, surprising, swell, terrific, tremendous, uncommon, unexampled, unheard-of, unimaginable, unique, unparalleled, unprecedented, unspeakable, wondrous)<\/p><\/div>\n

I ordered the “93” again, and it was perfectly grilled!\u00a0 I never imagined spending $93 on a steak, but times have changed.<\/p>\n

I bet my butcher once that he couldn’t reach the meat on the top shelf.\u00a0 He said he wasn’t going to bet with me.\u00a0 He told me the steaks were too high.<\/p>\n

Scrump-dilly-icious!<\/p><\/div>\n

Rosemary, my steak is too skinny.”
\n“It’s a strip steak, silly Paul.”
\n“At these prices, it should not only strip but sing and dance too!”<\/div>\n

David and Dianne made the party memorable.\u00a0 Dianne is like a sister to Mary, and David is always enjoyable company.\u00a0 He received his steak order and even had a beer.\u00a0 It’s wonderful to be alive and have gatherings like these for many more years to come.<\/p>\n

Chomp!<\/p><\/div>\n

A picture in the Robin pose is a must, even though her sister Colleen gives her a mean look.<\/p>\n

Raspberry Delight has zero calories this evening because we are celebrating.<\/p><\/div>\n

Can you please tell me who ordered the ham?\u00a0 Dang, this girl looks so young for her real age!\u00a0 Again, I am going to get in trouble)<\/p>\n

She still looks good even at her age is well over a half-century old.\u00a0 *Well means ONE!<\/p><\/div>\n

We left around 9:00 pm after a lengthy night of enjoying a scrumptious meal and celebrating.\u00a0 As a kind gesture, we brought a key lime pie for our neighbor Jeff.\u00a0 We ensured the yard was ready for tomorrow and plan to wake up early to finish any remaining preparations.<\/p>\n

Ready to go? I hope I turned off the sprinklers!<\/p><\/div>\n

We would walk over to the other side of the street to deliver the key lime pie to Jeff, but when we started our journey, the pie was nowhere to be found.\u00a0 It was pretty perplexing until Colleen revealed that she had already given it to Jeff earlier.<\/p>\n

The water was 88 degrees, so when everyone went to bed, Mary and I jumped in, saving wear and tear on our swimsuits.\u00a0 As I entered the water, I noticed three fish and a frog jump out the other end of the pool.\u00a0 Prey tell, what frightened them?<\/p>\n

Three more degrees, and it would be soup time!<\/p><\/div>\n

It was a delightful day, and celebrating two wonderful years with Miss Mary was exceptional.\u00a0 We got Colleen a brand new walker considering her age.\u00a0 She did not unwrap it; she did, however, rap me! OUCH!<\/p>\n
