Today, we embarked on an adventure to attend the Rondaliers dance club. Unfortunately, it was canceled due to the impact of COVID and the club’s aging infrastructure. As long-standing members for the past decade, we’ll keep you informed about any updates on the club’s future.<\/p>\n
The day begins, and we are busier than a one-legged man in a butt-kickin’ contest.<\/p>\n
After getting ready, we made our way to Huntington Beach for our hair appointment. At 10:00 am, we drove to Glendora to meet up with Irene for lunch. Later, we visited Irmie, who had been Mary’s nanny for David and Becky for almost a decade after the kids father left on Christmas Day in 1995.<\/p>\n
Irmie, who is in her 90s, is currently experiencing declining health. She has been placed in an assisted living facility, which is a lovely private residence. The facility is quite pleasant. lovely private residence. The facility is quite pleasant.<\/p>\n
Irene, a dear friend of Mary’s, joined us for lunch in the historic Old Town Glendora.<\/p>\n

We had to adjust our position to achieve the perfect lighting. The ladies had\u00a0 salads while I decided to indulge in their renowned hamburger.<\/p>\n

I joined the girls.<\/p><\/div>\n
We are visiting Irmie’s new private home for the first time, and we are impressed by the wonderful care she is receiving.<\/p>\n

Irmie was incoherent but had flashes of words that made sense.<\/p><\/div>\n
Irene frequently sees Irmie since they live about two miles away from each other.<\/p>\n

I joined the ladies during the visit, and Irmie did smile at me!<\/p><\/div>\n
Once we left, we intended to visit the Huntington Library. However, due to the scorching 100-degree heat, we decided to check in early at the Downtown Pasadena Hotel instead.<\/p>\n
We left at 6:00 pm to go to the Altadena Town & Country Club for dancing. The club’s GM has kindly allowed us to have drinks before the dance for years because we like to arrive early to avoid traffic. We had a delicious meal and shared a bottle of Cakebread, which was listed on the menu for $49! To top it off, we enjoyed a pink martini. Our waiter, Bradley, recognized us as he had served us multiple times before.<\/p>\n
Mary had a salad, and the old man had spaghetti and meatballs!\u00a0 I must say they were outstanding.\u00a0 If the Terminator were Italian, he would say, “Pasta la vista, baby.”<\/p>\n

As the waiter came to the table,\u00a0 he almost dropped the plate of Alphabet Spaghetti.\u00a0 That could have spelled disaster.<\/p>\n

As we were leaving, the receptionist took a snapshot of us. We were on our way to the hotel to unwind after a long day. Surprisingly, it was only 89 degrees outside at 8:30 pm, which made me almost consider bringing a coat.<\/p>\n

When Robin arrived home, Scout was in the front yard!\u00a0 Scout, the little fart,\u00a0 pushed the west-wall gate open with his nose and pranced into the front yard to bark at the delivery people.\u00a0 He did not know that his nose could not open in the other direction when the gate closed.\u00a0 He could not get back to his food or water!\u00a0 Robin saved him at 7:00 pm, so he ran for the water bowl and scarfed it down!<\/p>\n

Scout trapped himself in the front yard today!!<\/p><\/div>\n
After finishing our dinner, we went to the hotel to rest.\u00a0 We planned to be at the opening of the Huntington at 8:00 am, so we could walk for two hours before leaving for home at 10:00 am.\u00a0 We aimed to return home by 11:00 am to reach the Elks Lodge by noon.\u00a0 We have a busy schedule ahead!<\/p>\n
We might invite our friend from Villa Park to join us at the Elks, but we suspect that they might come up with a silly excuse.<\/p>\n
We came back to the hotel at 9:30 pm after stopping by the pub located on the first floor.\u00a0 We decided to call it a day at 10:00 pm, not because it was late, but because I had brought my Baby Doll jammies, and we did not want to scare Mary!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
