On a very serious note!<\/p><\/div>\n

The morning stroll started with sitting by the fire and having our coffee.\u00a0 It was 60 degrees outside, but by the fire, it was toasty.\u00a0 \u00a0While sitting there, I told Mary, “I have a burning question!”<\/p>\n

I bought a friend a fire extinguisher.\u00a0 He was de-lighted.<\/p>\n

Our artichokes went to flower, but that was OK as they were small anyway.\u00a0 We will feed them, and the next batch, someone in the winter, will be just fine.<\/p>\n

Our artichokes went to flower!<\/p><\/div>\n

We planted more cukes two weeks ago, and they are doing fine in their little box.\u00a0 Mary makes a Mediterranean Cucumber Salad to die for, so I keep the cucumbers coming all summer.<\/p>\n

What do eggplants, zucchini, and cucumber all have in common?\u00a0 Think hard!\u00a0 None of them looks like a peach!<\/h3>\n

The new cukes are doing just fine!<\/p><\/div>\n

The melons are just doing fine; they require a lot of water, so I move a hose into the middle of them and let them go for 45 minutes.<\/p>\n

We are going to have watermelons and cantaloupe in another three weeks!<\/p><\/div>\n

Carlos came by, and I asked him to add another valve to the electronic sprinkler system plus figure out out to get water to the southmost beds.\u00a0 He is quite bright, and within an hour, I had a new zone for taking care of the corn\/melons, plus a new outlet between the beds tied to an existing water line.\u00a0 The entire South Forty is now on automatic.<\/p>\n

Carlos made it look great!<\/p><\/div>\n

We headed for the Elks around 5:00 pm, had dinner there, and danced until 8:30 pm when the music changed from ballroom to hoochi-koochi!\u00a0 We were with the Zaitz, Capps, Fentenbergs, and Branders, the usual culprits!<\/p>\n

Tomorrow we are going to practice the two-step and a line dance in our ballroom because I promised Mary I would relearn them; I needed a refresher!<\/p>\n

We danced until the wee hours… 9:30 pm.<\/p><\/div>\n

We made it home by 9:00 pm, which is good for our age.\u00a0 \u00a0We walked around our backyard since it was so quiet and peaceful.<\/p>\n

A walk around the pool in the evening.<\/p><\/div>\n

The house looks quite inviting after such a busy day!<\/p>\n

Mary has made this house into a wonderfully warm and exciting home.<\/p><\/div>\n
