This also includes old friends!<\/p><\/div>\n

The day was fantastic although it started with some June gloom which burned off by 10:30 am.\u00a0 We harvested veggies and I did some serious transplanting of beets plus I planted about 50 beet seeds. Mary took her cart and visited the flowers taking off dead leaves and blossoms.<\/p>\n

Another magnificent day!<\/p><\/div>\n

EEK!\u00a0 I heard a horrible noise terminating from the garden.\u00a0 It reminded me of the song, Ghost Riders In The Sky!\u00a0 When I turned the corner, I was confronted by a large black and red four-legged BUG!\u00a0 I thought I was safe because I could not see any eyes.\u00a0 It was flailing around as if to be in pain, so I walked every so slowly in its direction.\u00a0 It spoke English; a bug speaking English.\u00a0 I heard the word “PULL” and then decided I had to help this poor defenseless creature.<\/p>\n

I grabbed the top of its shell and gave it a yank.\u00a0 OMG, the noise that terminated from this thing was frightening.\u00a0 I saw Scout run into the house and dive into his bed, shaking.<\/p>\n

Then, to my surprise, the shell came off, and it was Mary — she got stuck taking off her sweatshirt. I was not ging to be eaten alive after all.<\/p>\n

A giant bug was in the garden; I got the sprayer!<\/p><\/div>\n

By noon time, we had a small lunch and Mary headed to the office to do paperwork.\u00a0 I stayed outside and decorated the gazebo plus did some additional planting.<\/p>\n

I love the afternoon wind.<\/p><\/div>\n

Mary gets confused about whose wheelbarrow is whos so I decided we needed a sign om the side.<\/p>\n

His!<\/p><\/div>\n

Mary’s is smaller.<\/p>\n

\"\"

Hers<\/p><\/div>\n

Off to the Elks, and as expected, no phone call from our friend, so I guess she would be happier being alone and depressed and not visiting her old friends she hasn’t seen in two years.\u00a0 Life is what life is!<\/p>\n

We had a wonderful time at the Elks; there were only 36 people there and a wonderful band playing dance music all night long. We met some new people and got to visit with Mike and Bridgette for quite a while.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
