Scary but true!<\/p><\/div>\n

The morning promenade included an inspection of Vicky’s Tomatillo; it is coming along swell.\u00a0 Tomatillos may be delicious, but they aren’t super nutrient-dense.\u00a0 They have quite a bit of Vitamin C, are good sources of Vitamin K and niacin, and are good sources of zeaxanthin and lutein, both necessary for eye health.\u00a0 They are also relatively high in fiber and low in calories.<\/p>\n

Both plants are over a foot tall already and will begin to bloom within a couple of weeks.<\/p><\/div>\n

Mama, the plant given to me by my cousin when Mom passed in 1990, is thriving in her new location!\u00a0 The roots have finally grabbed on and are enjoying their freedom on their ground!<\/p>\n

The pumpkins have doubled in size and will begin to branch out (or vine out) soon, sending runners up to twenty feet in length in several locations.<\/p>\n

Halloween is only five months away, and we will be ready!<\/p><\/div>\n

We went to Costco for a pot and returned with a whole basket of stuff, including a lemon meringue cheesecake for tonight.\u00a0 The new chimes sound beautiful, and we hung them by the front door; another trip to Costco may be in the future if the four grey pots work out; they are resin and ought to last for years and years!\u00a0 The new chimes are percussion instruments and sound amazing.<\/p>\n

Must stop shopping; the cart is full!<\/p><\/div>\n

Robin and Bob are coming over at 5:30 pm to watch “The Sound Of Music,” so we decided a German-themed dinner was in the offing.\u00a0 Red-sweet sour kraut was first on the list, and it was excellent.<\/p>\n

Fermented food itself is packed full of vitamins, minerals, and phytonutrients.\u00a0 This Beet and Red Cabbage Sauerkraut contains detoxifying, anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, and cancer-fighting properties that cabbage, beets, ginger, and garlic already offer, but in a more digestion-friendly format.\u00a0 Meaning the nutrients are more available to be absorbed and used in your body<\/p>\n

Mary added our leaves to the dish!<\/p><\/div>\n

We bought German potato salad, but Mary fixed it with certain spices and flowers from her edible flower tower.<\/p>\n

The veggie tray was from the garden except for the carrots; they are still a month away!<\/p>\n

Color in the veggie generally means healthy veggies.<\/p><\/div>\n

I cut up our watermelon; we are practicing for the upcoming voyage to Hawaii!\u00a0 The kumquats are from our neighbor’s tree, and the flower is also directly from the edible flower tower!<\/p>\n

Edible flowers now appear everywhere!<\/p><\/div>\n

Robin helps set the table, and we have freshly picked sweetpeas to add to the dinner setting.<\/p>\n

We put Chef Bob in charge of the sausages; Paul was relegated to making the BBQ ready and presentable.\u00a0 I fired it up about 30 monies before the kids came, and the neighbors got a good smell of what we cooled last summer.\u00a0 The smoke was intense, and with every scrub of the wire brush, more BBQ smells were released into the ether.\u00a0 Who says smoking is bad?<\/p>\n

Life is too short for ordinary food!\u00a0 Remember, Nobody has family over to “microwave.”<\/p>\n

Chef Bob does the sausages!<\/p><\/div>\n

The sausages were done in a jiffy as the BBQ indicated 550 degrees before we opened the lid; the grate was clean!\u00a0 The digital thermometer was very helpful!<\/p>\n

It was perfectly done!<\/p><\/div>\n

We had supervision as Scout kept an eye out for any dropping.<\/p>\n

Our supervisor is on duty.<\/p><\/div>\n

Mary carved the sausages, and we had three kinds tonight; German sausage (Kielbasa), Turkey-Apple sausage, and German hot and spicy sausage.\u00a0 We did a taste test, and all three were voted the favorite1<\/p>\n

Dr. Mary is using her surgical skills!<\/p>\n

Any way you slice it… will be just fine!<\/p><\/div>\n

Hey, excellent, we were there!\u00a0 Thank you, Bob, for the photo-op!<\/p>\n

Dining of edible flowers.\u00a0 What is the best flower to dine on?\u00a0 Honeysuckle<\/b>.\u00a0 If you remember this plant from your childhood, you already know it holds sugary nectar.\u00a0 The blossom also tastes sweet and achieves a honey flavor without beehives.\u00a0 We are going to plant 100 of these puppies tomorrow morning.<\/p>\n

After dinner, we went to the TV room and tried the new theater seating.\u00a0 Mary got a birthday present a few days early; the jewelry bag will be handy on the upcoming cruise.<\/p>\n

We are ready to watch the movie, but The Sound Of Music has been removed from streaming starting April 2023.\u00a0 We guess it was not making enough money!<\/p>\n

Bob says, “I did not do it!”<\/p><\/div>\n
