We woke up to heavy rain at 5:00 am, but it slowed by 6:30 am.\u00a0 We let Scout out, but he was confused; the grass was already watered!\u00a0 Mary was worried about our neighbors so she took some groceries over to them.<\/p>\n

Caring about our neighbors!<\/p><\/div>\n

Mary’s accountant is coming over today (according to Mary’s memory), so we had to straighten up the office, and Mary spent the morning getting ready for the accountant.<\/p>\n

We walked the garden ahead of the big splash that would supposedly be coming in the next two days.\u00a0 After all the work last year, it looks pretty good!<\/p>\n

The garden is ready.<\/p><\/div>\n

I got to pose for Mary’s camera.<\/p>\n

Welcome to our garden!<\/p><\/div>\n

Each of these planters is 100 square feet, and we have five of them. This one was dug up, and six bags of manure were added with the appropriate dry nitrogen fertilizer.\u00a0 The plants seem to be enjoying their new home<\/p>\n

We have been digging and transplanting.<\/p><\/div>\n

Of course, the transplanted strawberries had to get a visit from the boss.\u00a0 I overheard MAry talking to the little buggers and trying to make them happy.\u00a0 She said, “What\u2019s red, made of strawberries, and sucks your blood? A jampire.” Nary, a giggle was heard (by me) so she tried again, “How do you fix a broken strawberry? With a strawberry patch.”<\/p>\n

On our way to Girl’s Night Out, Mary looked at her calendar book, and there was an “oops!”\u00a0 The accountant is not coming until tomorrow, Friday.\u00a0 We got a day’s head start!<\/p>\n

When we arrived, strange people were sitting at OUR table.\u00a0 We found out it was our waitress’s mother and son!\u00a0 They fit right into this amazing group.\u00a0 Mom is visiting from Virginia for six weeks, and Jason is a local working in Huntington Beach.<\/p>\n

Girls’ Night Out at the Elks<\/p><\/div>\n

Bill Capps was showing off his new corduroy trousers.\u00a0 I said the pants look fine but probably look better on someone else.<\/p>\n

Corduroy is a textile with a distinctively raised “cord” or wale texture. Modern corduroy is most commonly composed of tufted cords, sometimes exhibiting a channel (bare to the base fabric) between them. Both velvet and corduroy derive from fustian fabric. Corduroy is made from multiple cords parallel to each other.<\/div>\n

I heard a noise behind be, and I knew instantly who it was; he giggled a lot.\u00a0 He showed me his new shirt, and we both laughed.<\/p>\n

My weekly insult from my good friend Ronnie!<\/p><\/div>\n

On our way home, we were seeing the impending weather hanging over the mountains, just waiting to come down and drench us.\u00a0 We don’t care; bring on the rain as we need it.<\/p>\n

It was bluster on the way home.<\/p><\/div>\n

From our front door, fifteen minutes later, the storm clouds were gathering.\u00a0 You know, as they say, “As raindrops say, two\u2019s company, three\u2019s a cloud.”<\/p>\n

I asked Mary, “What sort of clothes do clouds have?” She looked puzzled, so I answered, ” Thunderwear.”<\/p>\n

We did a fly-by, grabbed some turkey soup for Jan, and then headed to her house for a glass of wine and to share the latest gossip! We did not stay too long.<\/p>\n

Back home we went, and the Silver Fox appreciate it; he did not want to get wet again!\u00a0 From the garden, we had quite a view.\u00a0 Although difficult to see, the flags on our flag pole were waiving at 90 degrees.<\/p>\n

Some serious weather is on its way!<\/p><\/div>\n

We sat down for a few minutes and Mary said I have an idea.\u00a0 She asked me what day I wanted to get a pedicure. I immediately answered, “There’s no day like toe-day!”<\/p>\n

What a good idea, as we had the rest of the afternoon open so we went out immediately.\u00a0 \u00a0I get to rest and take a nap!<\/p>\n

I took a nap shortly afterward!<\/p><\/div>\n

Love that hot water!\u00a0 I did not get nail polish this time, but I peeked at Mary and her toes were forest green, ready for St. Patrick’s Day!<\/p>\n

I got my feets done.<\/p><\/div>\n

I was done first so I got the nod.\u00a0 Open up the phone, check the grocery list, and go next door to Stater Brothers and do the shopping.\u00a0 This is often quite dangerous as things fall into my basket without me knowing.\u00a0 By the time Mary got there, the basket was full, and only three things were on the shopping list.<\/p>\n

She was puzzled by the two pounds of Kosher bacon!<\/p>\n

We made it home and began watching a new series called New Ampsterdam, a medical show. New Amsterdam is an American medical drama television series, based on the book Twelve Patients: Life and Death at Bellevue Hospital by Eric Manheimer, that premiered on September 25, 2018 on NBC and concluded on January 17, 2023, with 89 episodes over five seasons.<\/p>\n

The characters were really characters!<\/p><\/div>\n

I got a picture of Mary’s hat which we both thought was terrific.\u00a0 She loves wearing hats and I encourage it.\u00a0 Sometimes I wear by hats also!<\/p>\n

We had turkey soup for dinner and the smell was so good Scout had to come check it out!<\/p>\n
