{"id":64755,"date":"2022-10-02T06:33:32","date_gmt":"2022-10-02T13:33:32","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/lilesnet.com\/dailydiary\/?p=64755"},"modified":"2022-10-02T23:27:17","modified_gmt":"2022-10-03T06:27:17","slug":"the-word-of-the-day-is-acclimate","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/lilesnet.com\/dailydiary\/?p=64755","title":{"rendered":"The Word Of The Day Is &#8220;Acclimate&#8221;"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><em><strong>Fact: Acclimatization or acclimatization (also called acclimation or acclimatization) is the process in which an individual organism adjusts to a change in its environment (such as a change in altitude, temperature, humidity, photoperiod, or pH), allowing it to maintain fitness across a range of environmental conditions.\u00a0 <\/strong>Acclimatization occurs in a short period (hours to weeks) and within the organism&#8217;s lifetime (compared to adaptation, which is evolution, taking place over many generations).<\/em><\/p>\n<p>I woke up first this morning; it was a big mistake! There was a twinkle in my eye, it was obvious I had to do something bad!\u00a0 Poor Mary!<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_64773\" style=\"width: 436px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-64773\" class=\" wp-image-64773\" src=\"http:\/\/lilesnet.com\/dailydiary\/wp-content\/dailydiary\/uploads\/2022\/10\/image004.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"426\" height=\"504\" srcset=\"http:\/\/lilesnet.com\/dailydiary\/wp-content\/dailydiary\/uploads\/2022\/10\/image004.jpg 577w, http:\/\/lilesnet.com\/dailydiary\/wp-content\/dailydiary\/uploads\/2022\/10\/image004-127x150.jpg 127w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 426px) 100vw, 426px\" \/><p id=\"caption-attachment-64773\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">I was pretty creative this morning!<\/p><\/div>\n<p>I guess the travel day took more out of us than we thought.\u00a0 We were in the air for five hours, but it was an equal amount of time in lines and walking around the airports.\u00a0 Thank goodness I agreed to a wheelchair!<\/p>\n<p>We are getting used to the room, however!\u00a0 The electronics are set up, we mastered the TV remote, and finally figured out the light switches.<\/p>\n<p>Ready for some potty humor?<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-64760\" src=\"http:\/\/lilesnet.com\/dailydiary\/wp-content\/dailydiary\/uploads\/2022\/10\/potty.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"500\" height=\"500\" srcset=\"http:\/\/lilesnet.com\/dailydiary\/wp-content\/dailydiary\/uploads\/2022\/10\/potty.jpg 500w, http:\/\/lilesnet.com\/dailydiary\/wp-content\/dailydiary\/uploads\/2022\/10\/potty-150x150.jpg 150w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 500px) 100vw, 500px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Well, in the middle of the night, I had to tinkle.\u00a0 OK, nothing new so far.\u00a0 I decided to sit down as I was not in a hurry.\u00a0 I noticed the toilet was low to the ground, and by the time I finally got seated, my two little friends were in the ice-cold water!\u00a0 Surprise!\u00a0 I jumped up, suppressed what would have been a loud yell,\u00a0 and decided to stand.\u00a0 Oh dear, how is this going to work?<\/p>\n<p>The story continues because thirty minutes later, Miss Mary decides it&#8217;s potty time and proceeds to sit down.\u00a0 The throne was very wide and very low, so she thought Paul must have left the seat open after almost sitting in the water.\u00a0 It was dark, so she lowered the lid, thinking that was the seat.\u00a0 When she finally sat down, she was on the cold lid, and I heard a little scream!\u00a0 On went the light so she could sort things out!\u00a0 \u00a0We both had a good laugh!<\/p>\n<p>Hours later, I am getting used to leaning over at a 45-degree angle, ha!<\/p>\n<p>We departed for a dry run to the hospital and then lunch.\u00a0 The hospital is 2.5 miles from the hotel.\u00a0\u00a0I was happy Mary was in the army because she could read the map.\u00a0 We arrived at the hospital two hours later!<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-64794\" src=\"http:\/\/lilesnet.com\/dailydiary\/wp-content\/dailydiary\/uploads\/2022\/10\/army.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"402\" height=\"428\" srcset=\"http:\/\/lilesnet.com\/dailydiary\/wp-content\/dailydiary\/uploads\/2022\/10\/army.jpg 646w, http:\/\/lilesnet.com\/dailydiary\/wp-content\/dailydiary\/uploads\/2022\/10\/army-141x150.jpg 141w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 402px) 100vw, 402px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>After all the turns I had to make, doubling back, going in reverse, performing 3-g loops,\u00a0 and other unusual directions from my navigator, I told Mary, \u201cit hurts when I touch my neck, my leg, my arm, or my chest.\u201d She said, \u201cyou\u2019ve broken your finger.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>(Truth is; J.A. Van Hoomissen, pastor of St. Peter&#8217;s Catholic Church in Mt. Clemens, MI. Through the years, the hospital grew to become one of the largest providers of health care in Macomb County. Most recently, it was part of a joint venture between Trinity Health, the nation&#8217;s fourth largest Catholic health care system, and Henry Ford Health, one of the nation&#8217;s largest health systems.<\/p>\n<p>Today, Henry Ford Macomb Hospital is a 435-bed hospital where more than 700 physicians and 3,000 health care workers deliver high-quality care.
