Fact: In recent years, the average heat wave in major U.S. urban areas has been about\u00a0four days long.<\/strong> This is about a day longer than the average heat wave in the 1960s (see Figure 1). The average heat wave season across the 50 cities in this indicator is about 49 days longer now than it was in the 1960s.<\/em><\/p>\n

I made a mistake and listened to the “news”; I am appalled at the garbage that the so call press burps out.\u00a0 Makes me think of a very wise man who I really admire.<\/p>\n

It’s gonna be a hot one today as it is already 95 degrees, and it is only 1:00 PM.\u00a0 We stayed inside and watched TV until almost 2:30 PM, when we went to the nursery and picked up a load of veggies; we are almost out of onions!<\/p>\n

I ordered a mister that fits on a fan; connect it to the water supply, and you are ready to go!\u00a0 It will arrive on the 6th of September.<\/p>\n

We stayed inside most of the day as it was 78 inside and 90+ outside.\u00a0 We went to the nursery and procured a mess of veggies we will plant tomorrow after returning from the gym.<\/p>\n

It was 103 degrees in downtown Orange.\u00a0 If you figure in the wind chill factor, it\u2019s only 102.<\/p>\n

On the way home, we stopped at Jan’s to say howdy and partake in a glass of wine.\u00a0 We visited with Jan and laughed and giggled for an hour.<\/p>\n

It is so hot\u2026 I saw two trees fighting over a dog.<\/p>\n

We had a lite dinner and then headed for the Swim Spa, where the 95-degree water felt cool!\u00a0 After a good soak, we decided it would be nice to sit outside in the 80-degree evening breeze and toast some marshmallows.<\/p>\n

After the hot tub, we roasted marshmallows.<\/p><\/div>\n

We looked up, and the sky was amazing, with little puffs of clouds everywhere.\u00a0 The temperature was just right and we almost went swimming as the water was 84 degrees.<\/p>\n

We turned off the firepit and headed for bed at about 10:00 PM.\u00a0 The house was a cool 78, and we used one of our box fans to circulate the air in the master bedroom; we slept well!<\/p>\n
