The industrial revolution allowed people to work longer and year-round. work was no longer dictated by seasons and natural lighting!<\/em><\/p>\n<p>My body yelled &#8220;Wake up dummy&#8221; at 5:30 AM this morning. Perhaps it was the sound of the owl who was hooting up a storm starting at 5:00 AM.\u00a0 Now if there were two owls, would they be Hooters?\u00a0 I thought to myself, &#8220;Morning is wonderful. Its only drawback is that it comes at such an inconvenient time of day.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>I hate it when I yell at myself so I got out of bed and headed to the office which is next door!\u00a0 Scout, The Wonder Dog, followed me.\u00a0 After a few minutes, he wanted to go outside.\u00a0 It was his duty to check the yard for elephants.\u00a0 I attempted to take a picture of him but he was in a hurry!<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-61305\" src=\"http:\/\/lilesnet.com\/dailydiary\/wp-content\/dailydiary\/uploads\/2022\/03\/2022-03-25-001.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"531\" height=\"398\" srcset=\"http:\/\/lilesnet.com\/dailydiary\/wp-content\/dailydiary\/uploads\/2022\/03\/2022-03-25-001.jpg 650w, http:\/\/lilesnet.com\/dailydiary\/wp-content\/dailydiary\/uploads\/2022\/03\/2022-03-25-001-150x113.jpg 150w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 531px) 100vw, 531px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Scout provided some humor this morning.\u00a0 In his best Aussie dialect, he asked &#8220;Why are dogs like phones?&#8221;\u00a0 I thought long and hard but could not come up with an answer.\u00a0 Then he barked, &#8220;Because they have collar IDs.&#8221;\u00a0 I told Scout NOT to give up his day job!<\/p>\n<p>As Scout&#8217;s breakfast was being prepared, we got two visitors.\u00a0 We would have let them stay except for their naughty habit of decorating the bottom of the pool. They stayed long enough for us to take pictures of them and then we sent Scout out to send them away.<\/p>\n<p>Daisy and Donald were talking to each other so I put on my duck to English translation app and here is what I heard Donald say, &#8220;What do mallards eat at a baseball game? Donald and Daisy stayed for about five minutes.<\/p><\/div>\n<p>I moved eight more boxes from the &#8220;She Shed&#8221; to the kitchen where Mary proceeded to open them and decide what to keep and what to donate. The washing machine and dishwasher were busy the entire day. After lunch, we continued working.<\/p>\n<p>The side of our house was difficult to walk by if you were pushing a lawnmower or pulling a trashcan because the Rubbermaid upright storage units were wide. I decided to move them to the backyard. While I was out there I also added a drip line for Mary&#8217;s little cactus garden down the walkway. We had the TV in the kitchen so I watched part of a movie as we were finishing dinner. Even though I was stiff as a board, I decided I had to go back out to the yard for another 45 minutes to make sure I had all my tools put up, the gates were locked,\u00a0 and the drip line was working.<\/p>\n<p>After coming in Mary told me, &#8220;Working in the yard could add years to my life.&#8221;\u00a0 She was right\u2014I feel ten years older already.<\/p>\n<p>We were both tired so we hit the sack around 8 o&#8217;clock and watched a movie. Mary is going to participate in a Continuing Medical Education activity tomorrow so she will be gone all day leaving me to do odds and ends around the house.\u00a0 As a doctor, she&#8217;s required to do at least 24 hours of continuing education every year.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Fact: If you work 40 hours a week up until 65 years, you will work just over 90,000 hours in your lifetime.
