Fact: Surprisingly, Mondays are the least rainy day of the week.\u00a0 <\/strong>Although the exact science behind this is unknown, researchers believe it is due to the decrease in man-made pollution over the weekend.<\/em><\/p>\n

The morning was quiet as the morning after a storm; the air smelled brisk, and the sun was low in the sky, thank you daylight savings time.\u00a0 We strolled into the kitchen and enjoyed a warm cup of coffee while our eyes were beginning to open.\u00a0 \u00a0Scout, The Wonder Dog, was up early practicing his new trick.\u00a0 I taught him to shake yesterday!<\/p>\n

Scout learned to shake very quickly.<\/p><\/div>\n

As I was going through my camera, it gave me a set of pictures from a few years back.\u00a0 I had to double-take on the one below because it came from the Christmas play in 2018.<\/p>\n

We decided to pick the rest of the loquats at the side of the house, so Mary and Colleen began the activity.\u00a0 They brought out a big paper sack and had it almost halfway filled by the time I arrived.<\/p>\n

Remember, never trust ladders. They’re always up to something.<\/p>\n

I told the girls, “Spaces between ladder rings have gradually been increasing over the years.\u00a0\u00a0Manufacturers claim it’s due to climb it change.”<\/p>\n

Time to pick loquats!<\/p><\/div>\n

My job was to get on the ladder and go higher, so I got at least another 2 feet of loquats picking off the side of the tree.\u00a0 There’s probably another shopping bag full of loquats higher up in the tree, requiring me to find a six or 8-foot ladder.<\/p>\n

Scout, The Wonder Dog, was doing some grazing beneath the picking activity.\u00a0 He’s not sure whether he likes loquats or not.\u00a0 But he does want to sniff them.<\/p>\n

I hope all the king’s horses and all the king’s men are nearby should I take a spill.<\/p><\/div>\n

In the house, I had to wash the loquats and then take a sharp knife and cut off both ends.\u00a0 Then, I would wash the loquat and take the big dark seed out of the center placing the clean and de-seeded loquats into a pan.\u00a0 We used lemon juice on the meat of the fruit to keep them from turning brown.<\/p>\n

After an hour at the sink, I was good at cleaning up the loquats.<\/p><\/div>\n

While the loquats were cooking down on the stove, Mary made the crisp part of the desert using a new recipe consisting of flour, almonds, and other goodies.\u00a0 As they cook down, we add flour and corn starch to thicken up the concoction.<\/p>\n

Well, we were working in the yard we heard the doorbell ring.\u00a0 It was our friendly UPS driver, and he had a small package for us!\u00a0 What could it be?\u00a0 Goodness, it was our new Easter flag.<\/p>\n

We moved out to the front yard, and I promptly lowered the St. Patrick’s flag, and we folded it and put it away for next year.<\/p>\n

The last of St. Patrick’s Day was taken down.<\/p><\/div>\n

The new flag is 4′ x 6,’ and it’s double-sided with bunnies on one side and flowers on the other.\u00a0 It won’t blow in the wind quite as quickly as a single-sided flag, but it should be easier to see from a distance.<\/p>\n

Our new Easter flag just arrived.<\/p><\/div>\n

Later in the day, when the afternoon breeze began, the flag stood out and was quite readable from way down the street.<\/p>\n

Thanks once again to autocorrect while typing an invitation to our annual Easter egg party, my grandson’s kids are expecting the Easter Rabbi tomorrow.<\/p>\n

Up up and away.<\/p><\/div>\n

We made a short trip to the market and visited Jan. Scout was a little curious about the air freshener in the car.<\/p>\n

I must remember to put Scout in the backseat of the car when we go for a drive.<\/p><\/div>\n

We had a great dinner, and by 8:30 PM, Colleen, Mary, and I were ready to hit the sack and watch a movie.\u00a0 Today was a good day!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
