Fun Fact: The dancing plague of 1518, or dance epidemic of 1518, was a case of dancing mania that occurred in Strasbourg, Alsace (modern-day France), in the Holy Roman Empire from July 1518 to September 1518.\u00a0 Somewhere between 50 and 400 people took to dancing for days.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

The patio was wet; the sky was cloudless; the sprinklers were not set to come on; it must have rained.\u00a0 We checked the rain gauge, and sure enough, we had almost 1\/2″ of the wet stuff sometime during the night!<\/p>\n

Robin and Colleen did a “donut run,” and we all dove into the donut bag with vigor, not witnessed in recent history!\u00a0 Crumbs were flying, and calories were being downed by the hundreds.<\/p>\n

For the rest of the day, Mary attacked her income taxes and learned about Excel with some help from me.<\/p>\n

At 4:00 PM, we departed for the dance via Jan’s house for a visit and a glass of wine!<\/p>\n

Irene and Vicky were already there setting up, so Colleen, Mary, and I helped them where we could.<\/p>\n

We arrived at 5:30 PM and helped do the setup for the dance.<\/p><\/div>\n

After dinner, Bob and Donna gave the club the latest updates, plus we got a little standup comedy!<\/p>\n

Bob and Donna did their speech, and that’s always entertaining.<\/p><\/div>\n

The dance floor was perfect for the club!<\/p>\n

The Elks dance floor was perfect for this evening.<\/p><\/div>\n

Colleen joined us this evening and danced with several of the guys!<\/p>\n

Colleen and Mary were enjoying themselves, and Colleen got to dance.<\/p><\/div>\n

We killed off two bottles of wine because we knew Colleen would be the designated driver.<\/p>\n

That’s my girl!<\/p><\/div>\n

I love that smile; it reflects her heart!\u00a0 Colleen whispered to me, “I smile because you’re my father.\u00a0 I laugh because there’s nothing you can do about it.” I whispered back, “Behind every great daughter is a truly amazing dad.”<\/p>\n

Colleen was introduced as a guest for this evening.<\/p><\/div>\n

The music was terrific, and the dance floor was busy all night!<\/p>\n
