One day you’re the best thing since sliced bread. The next, you’re toast.<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n

Into the swim spa at 7:00 AM sharp with a big cup of coffee.\u00a0 The way to start the day!\u00a0 We planned out the activities and who is doing what to get prepare for our dinner guests!\u00a0 Dru and Vicky are coming over for an early steak dinner with southern fixin’s courtesy of Dru!<\/p>\n

But first, we put the final touches on the office!\u00a0 Wow, everything is in its place, and with all the piles of paper we had been handled or filed, the site looks great!\u00a0 I lost the bet; there was a top on the desk!<\/p>\n

No, we are not in the wrong house!<\/p><\/div>\n

We watched our televangelist at 11:00 AM, and he, as usual, had good messages of faith.<\/p>\n

At noon we took off to do the shopping for today. First stopped at Albertsons, the local market, with about 80% luck.\u00a0 Mary did meet my butcher, Jan, who I met a few weeks earlier when shopping for dinner for my lady!\u00a0 Jan was very helpful and got me a great cut of meet1\u00a0 However, there were no Lychees to be had!<\/p>\n

Did You Know?<\/strong> It is a tropical tree native to the Guangdong and Fujian provinces of southeastern China, where cultivation is documented from the 11th century. China is the primary producer of lychees, followed by India, other countries in Southeast Asia, the Indian Subcontinent, Madagascar, and South Africa. So we went next to Trader Joe’s, but alas, they have not had them for years!\u00a0 Dang!\u00a0 The manager suggested a Korean or Chinese market, so we looked in the magic iPhone and located a store about eleven minutes away; we are off like a herd of turtles!\u00a0 But, on the bright side, we did find Acai in a frozen form.<\/p>\n

The juice is also used commercially as a beverage and in ice cream, jelly, and liqueurs.In manufacturing, acai berry is used as a natural purple food colorant.<\/div>\n

We entered the store, and it was definitely Korean.\u00a0 If we were not in a hurry, we would have wandered around for a while, but we found the canned Lychees and headed north to Orange!<\/p>\n

Arriving home, we unpacked our groceries, and Mary began operating on the eyeballs. The recipe was complicated, but like a master, Mary made it look easy!<\/p>\n

Halloween “treats” are being prepared.<\/p><\/div>\n

Dang!\u00a0 She scared Scout and me with the results!\u00a0 He ran and hid under the bed; I followed but I was too high to get under with him! It looked like the closet was my safe place from “the eyes”.<\/p>\n

I asked Mary if she heard about the bone doctor and eye doctor who shared jokes? The bone doctor’s jokes were pretty humerus, but the jokes of the eye doctor were to cornea.<\/p>\n

I remembered an old saying, “It is often said that before you die your life passes before your eyes. It is in fact true. It’s called living.”<\/p>\n

We finally got the Lychees.<\/p><\/div>\n

It takes a precision effort to place the eyes into the drinks!<\/p>\n

With surgical precisions, the treats are prepared.<\/p><\/div>\n

OMG, this ought to scare everyone! They look like my eyes feel after a long session at the computer!<\/p>\n

\"\"

This drink will certainly be a surprise.<\/p><\/div>\n

While I was preparing the gilet mignon’s on the barbeque, the girls were chatting away inside.\u00a0 I tried to listen in, but it was girl talk; Scout and I decided to stay outside!<\/p>\n

Dru was cooking up fried cornbread!<\/p><\/div>\n

Dru is from Georgia, and we checked her green card; she is legal!\u00a0 I had to ask Dru a question:<\/p>\n


\n<\/b><\/span>Q: What is green and has its own talk show?
\nA: Okra Winfrey!<\/strong><\/p>\n

Dru asked if we had ever had fried cornbread, and of course, the answer was “No!” Well, right there on the spot, she whipped up a pile of fried cornbread, and it all disappeared at dinner very quickly!<\/p>\n

Fried Okra was on the menu.<\/p><\/div>\n

Dinner time, and we dined outside.\u00a0 Mary brought her unique concoction of Halloween eyes, and we all downed the non-alcoholic eyeballs.\u00a0 The Lychees were very good!\u00a0 Hey, only 66 calories per eyeball!\u00a0 Next time, I plan to drop some rum or gin into the mix.\u00a0 Perhaps we will have to make some and take it to Chuck at Patty’s Place to serve the regulars!<\/p>\n

The eyes have it!<\/p><\/div>\n

Dru and Vicky hit it off; we all sat around and talked until it got dark, and then we headed inside for dessert.\u00a0 I enjoyed Mary enjoying the banter, so I did the KP this evening; only fair as Mary worked hard to get everything ready!\u00a0 I reminded everyone that, “My cooking was so bad my kids thought Thanksgiving was to commemorate Pearl Harbor.”<\/p>\n

Dining al fresco with the heater on!<\/p><\/div>\n

Mary enjoyed the eyeballs!\u00a0 They were quite a conversation piece!\u00a0 I can see more of these soon!<\/p>\n

Laugh and giggle time.<\/p><\/div>\n

Sometime around 8:00 PM, Dru and Vicky departed, and we did the final cleanup and then admired our decorations.\u00a0 Colleen’s suggestion on the trees was fantastic!<\/p>\n

We continued with the review of the decorations.<\/p><\/div>\n

I told Mary, “Halloween is easily the scariest night of the year, what with the dead rising from their graves… and fat girls thinking they look sexy dressed as cats.”<\/p>\n

We walked to the car with the ladies and, on the way back in, took a picture of the house with the lights on!<\/p>\n

They are looking good!<\/p><\/div>\n

Almost spooky; Mary has some spiderwebs she plans to add to the decor!<\/p>\n

As seen from the sidewalk, the place does look eerie!<\/p><\/div>\n

I looked up, and it was half-moon.\u00a0 No, not me; the real moon!\u00a0 Our flags looked great, and thanks to Joe, the flags are visible all night long.<\/p>\n

The moon was almost half; Halloween should be a full moon, oh oh!<\/p><\/div>\n

With the trusty iPhone, I dialed in SkyView and scanned the overheads.\u00a0 We were being watched! SkyView is a fantastic app!<\/p>\n

Right overhead was Neptune, Saturn, and tiny ol Pluto!<\/p><\/div>\n

We went inside, did some final cleanup, and crashed.\u00a0 Mary read for a while, and I hit the sack asleep and slept like a baby until 3:00 AM.<\/p>\n
