I don\u2019t want to brag, but I do speak a little Latin. I\u2019m not fluent, but I\u2019m sure I could get by if I ever went there.<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n

Today would have been Sue’s 70th birthday.\u00a0 Thanks to the many people who sent their wishes and memories to me today.\u00a0 All is OK, and life is moving on. Sue would be very happy for me.<\/p>\n

We woke up early, and I headed to Casa Valencia to meet with some cement contractors, friends of Joe,\u00a0 who I hope can pour a foundation for the swim spa.\u00a0 They will do the wiring, drain, and the 12×16 reinforced pad.\u00a0 They will also do a slab for the new storage facility due to arrive on the 21st.<\/p>\n

The tub dry weighs in at 2,200 pounds, and it well over 8,000 pounds when wet.<\/p><\/div>\n

Mary stayed behind and worked in the attic removing the remaining items to a place where I could assist in getting them down the stairs.\u00a0 The attic is now clear of things.<\/p>\n

I made a Good Will donation run at 10:00 AM, and I stopped by In-N-Out and got us double cheeseburgers to tide us over until dinner.<\/p>\n

Decisions decisions!<\/p><\/div>\n

We worked hard until 11:00 AM when we had to get cleaned up for our beauty shop appointments; yes, we!\u00a0 Mary does her hair, and I get my hair cut.\u00a0 For me, it is twenty minutes, and Mary is about two-plus hours. The lady does a great job, and I feel better about myself, thanks to Mary’s insistence.<\/p>\n

We went to a Star Wars-themed restaurant at Disneyland a few weeks back. The Wookie burgers are a little chewie.<\/p>\n

After the hair experience, we went to Casa Valencia to get some needed tools and water the backyard pots.\u00a0 Mary’s sunflowers are coming along quite nicely.\u00a0 I reminded Mary of what Hellen Keller once said, “Keep your face to the sunshine, and you cannot see the shadow. It\u2019s what sunflowers do.”<\/p>\n

Getting taller every day!<\/p><\/div>\n

Did You Know?<\/strong> Like potatoes, tomatoes, and corn, the cheerful plants didn’t originate in Europe. They were cultivated in North America as far back as 3000 BCE when they were developed for food, medicine, dye, and oil. Then, they were exported to the rest of the world by Spanish conquistadors around 1500.<\/div>\n

We returned to Mary’s to have a little dinner, but I was so tired, I crashed and watched a John Wayne movie, Big Jake.\u00a0 She whipped up dinner while I was horizontal; I took my meds a little late today, and that may have been the cause of my collapse!<\/p>\n

BTW, the zucchini came from our garden!<\/p>\n

Dinner was great!<\/p><\/div>\n

Mary worked upstairs on her clothes until 10:45 PM, and then we hit the hot tub.\u00a0 She went through her drawers and thinning things out, making all sorts of donations to the Good Will and Salvation Army.<\/p>\n

We are meeting Robin tomorrow morning for breakfast before we go to Casa Valencia for a day of unpacking and organizing.\u00a0 We have to be ready to receive another large delivery from the House On The Hill (Mary’s Place) on Wednesday!<\/p>\n

Monday Mary works, and Tuesday the packers come to finish off the house.\u00a0 We have only four more days at Mary’s house before we are together at Casa Valencia. It will be great to live in one home again!\u00a0 I have spent May, June, and almost two weeks in July between houses.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
