What do you call a cow with no legs? Ground beef.<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n

The Sun and I got up at the same time but for different reasons.\u00a0 He has to light up the world; I merely have to provide transportation for Irene to and from her most favorite procedure.\u00a0 Being the charming person I am, I will NOT reveal what procedure it is, BUTT, in my continuing effort to assure affordable health care for Irene, this may provide a clue.<\/p>\n

Hey, it might work and save a lot of money!<\/p><\/div>\n

All went well as I dropped her off at the medical facility, being careful to bring fresh hampster food for Irene’s new best friend.\u00a0 Returning home, I did some wash and watered the front garden.\u00a0 I also washed the new car as a bird decided to try bomb practice on the windshield yesterday.<\/p>\n

The call came in, and The Silver Fox and I zoomed out of here hurdling toward Long Beach hell-bent for leather.\u00a0 Upon reaching freeway speeds, I panicked! I was going 104!\u00a0 Oops!\u00a0 Then I spotted the new car had switched to kilometers per hour!\u00a0 I was doing 64.9, a safe speed. Heart-rate returning to normal!<\/p>\n

After picking Irene up, she was hungry!\u00a0 Duh, no food for two days!\u00a0 We stopped at her favorite haunt just around the corner from her house.\u00a0 \u00a0I was treated to lunch, but she said, “Nothing over $1.89,” which was challenging.\u00a0 I ended up ordering a single piece of toast without butter or jelly and ate all the saltines I could find. I did get the waiter to bring a shot glass of diet coke, so I came in at $1.82.\u00a0 She asked for the change!<\/p>\n

I never say pancakes disappear so fast!<\/p><\/div>\n

OK, the truth now comes out.\u00a0 I ordered a chili-size, one of my favorite fast-food creations, but, due to my magnificent self-control, I ate only one half a bun!\u00a0 I was so happy I texted a picture to Mary and got back a note saying, “Is there any food under the onions” followed by “I thought they were maggots before I enlarged the picture.”\u00a0 \u00a0WELL, I never; perhaps I should?<\/p>\n

Nummy nummy, good for the tummy!<\/p><\/div>\n

Irene was returned home safely, and I headed home to get cleaned up in case Mary wants company this evening.\u00a0 It was hot, 92 degrees in Los Alamitos, and over 100 degrees in Orange.\u00a0 That might call for a cold beer!<\/p>\n

I just knew there were many other uses for whipped cream than only on ice cream!<\/p><\/div>\n

Well, Miss Mary called, so I planned to visit her this evening.\u00a0 \u00a0 But since she was taking her class, I held off a bit and had a margarita with Robin.\u00a0 We talked for quite a while, and then she decided to get her nails done so, and I headed east on the 22 with The Silver Fox in full gallop.<\/p>\n

While she finished up the class, Scout and I sat on the patio.\u00a0 Dinner tonight was all American, chicken pot pie and mac & cheese.\u00a0 It was wonderful!\u00a0 We watched The Marvelous Miss Maisel and laughed all the way through it.<\/p>\n

The picture was captured between giggles!<\/p><\/div>\n

It must have been a long day as we both fell asleep on the couch around 10:00 PM.\u00a0 I sent her off to bed upstairs, and I took Scout out into the back yard before heading home at 10:15 PM.\u00a0 It was a short visit, but with Mary, always a pleasant time together.<\/p>\n

Mary gave me a shadow box to put the caricature in, and now I need to find the right place for it.<\/p><\/div>\n
