I still say I Love You,<\/strong><\/em>
\nBut now there’s no reply.<\/strong><\/em>
\nI always feel your presence<\/strong><\/em>
\nAs if you never left my side.<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n

I remember your comforting voice.<\/strong><\/em>
\nNow there’s not a sound.<\/strong><\/em>
\nOnly echoes from the past<\/strong><\/em>
\nFollow me around.<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n

You’re always by my side,<\/strong><\/em>
\nBut I can’t hold your hand.<\/strong><\/em>
\nThe reason why God took you<\/strong><\/em>
\nI find hard to understand.<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n

Summer days seem much shorter.<\/strong><\/em>
\nDark nights just linger on.<\/strong><\/em>
\nDreams turn into nightmares<\/strong><\/em>
\nWhen the one you love has gone.<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n

But real love never fades.<\/strong><\/em>
\nIt still burns like the sun.<\/strong><\/em>
\nAlthough they’re far away,<\/strong><\/em>
\nThose memories go on and on.<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n

Her spirit will never die<\/strong><\/em>
\nIt shines like the stars.<\/strong><\/em>
\nI know you’re sleeping in heaven,<\/strong><\/em>
\nBut you’re living in my heart.<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n

For the past 30 years, we celebrated Mother’s Day with our kids going places.\u00a0 I remember Sue arranging for a boat to cruise Newport Bay one year, and we did the Queen Mary another year.\u00a0 Then, we discovered Disneyland, and for the past twenty years, we took the family there to celebrate, after all, it is the happiest place on Earth,\u00a0 This year my Day has been very different.\u00a0 No excitement and no big plans. I spent time going through photos from the past thirty years remembering.<\/p>\n

While she was “Mom,” she was really “MOM” to many.\u00a0 I alternate between smiles and tears, but that is OK.\u00a0 I am looking forward to 3:30 PM when Robin plans to stop by with Bob, and we are going to have a homemade pastrami dinner!\u00a0 That will be special enough. All the kids have called (Robin, Colleen, Joe, and Michele) expressing their thoughts about today.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a>

Six years ago, we celebrated at Disneyland with all our family!\u00a0 I miss holding her in my arms.<\/p><\/div>\n

From our website, I found the following picture.\u00a0 We always remembered our mothers and honored them on this Day for the wonderful life they gave us.<\/p>\n

I love you, Moms!<\/p><\/div>\n

I remember Sue so skillfully bringing our families together; she was a master and loved all the kids, even the one who went her own direction. Her mother and father had to be just amazing people to create such an incredible person as Sue.\u00a0 It was not a fluke because her sister Diane possesses these qualities!<\/p>\n

Sue was blessed with a double-dose of all these abilities!<\/p><\/div>\n

Since the old carcass hit the sack early, it woke up early!\u00a0 I got all worried as the alarms began to sound as I walked down the hallway.\u00a0 I asked myself., who is breaking in at 5:30 AM. After figuring out what happened, the old saying, “We met the enemy, and he is us,” came to mind!<\/p>\n

Thank you, Pogo, for those words of wisdom!<\/p><\/div>\n

My outside security system spotted me inside my house and alarmed me that I had been located!\u00a0 That there is a mouth full.<\/p>\n

On the bright side, it sure works!!<\/p><\/div>\n

This morning I decided I needed a walk, and off I charged with my sequined shorts and batman cape, but by the time I got to the end of the street, I decided to return and put on something more “conservative.”\u00a0 So, jeans and a sweatshirt wrapped this fantastic svelt body, and I was off again.\u00a0 Ralph’s market, here I come!<\/p>\n

I came home with a small bag of necessities! I will likely return later for the heavy items!<\/p><\/div>\n

After getting home, I decided to make some no-knead bread that might be ready when Bob and Robin stop in! I am looking forward to seeing them.\u00a0 \u00a0Also, I expect Irene to drop by around 2:00 PM after listening to Steve Dudek at the seniors center in Seal Beach.<\/p>\n

Playing for the “old folks.”<\/p><\/div>\n

Donna found this T-Shirt in the closet yesterday, so I thing it out so I could remember Sue wearing it with pride for many years.<\/p>\n

Guess what we found in the closet?<\/p><\/div>\n

Right before Robin arrived, Zachary called to see how I was doing.\u00a0 He is a smart man and knew in his heart how tough the Day would be, he and his family are lovely people!<\/p>\n

Robin Haas arrived, so it is time for strawberry margaritas!\u00a0 I got the bread out of the oven, and we had cheese bread appetizers with Kerry Gold butter! Underneath its shiny golden wrapper, the Irish Kerrygold butter is bright yellow. The yellow is because the fresh cream used to make the butter comes from grass-fed cows. The grass in Irish pastures is a brilliant green and packs high levels of beta-carotene. This is what leads to the butter’s golden hue<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a>

Time for margaritas.<\/p><\/div>\n

We warmed the pastrami for sixty minutes at 275 degrees, and when it was ready, we dived in, and it was terrific.<\/p>\n

Did You Know? <\/b> The pastrami was initially created as a way to preserve meat before modern refrigeration. To make pastrami, you start by making corned beef. Corned beef is a beef brisket soaked in brine (with some sugar and spices). The name pastrami comes from Romanian pastram?, declination of the Romanian verb pistra meaning “to conserve food, to keep something for a long duration.”<\/div>\n

The pastrami was cooked to perfection, thank you, Robin!<\/p><\/div>\n

We set up a fabrication line with everything needed.\u00a0 We had so many different mustards that there was no room, so it was on the counter behind us.<\/p>\n

The bread was an appetizer and also dessert.<\/p><\/div>\n

We had potato salad, diet coke, and pastrami.\u00a0 A meal fit for a king!<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a>

That there is a real sandwich.<\/p><\/div>\n

Bob enjoyed his sandwich and even tried a couple of different mustards,<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a>

Pastrami and beer.<\/p><\/div>\n

We decided we needed some class, so the dining lamps were lit, and we enjoyed the fragrance of sugar cookies as we sunk our teeth into the delicious pastrami.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a>

We are adding a little class to the evening.<\/p><\/div>\n

Below is a “selfie,” so I could not hold up my sandwich.\u00a0 Besides, it was already gone!<\/p>\n

The bearded one holds court!<\/p><\/div>\n

Rogin left the table for a few minutes with my camera, and I wondered what she was up to.\u00a0 Well, she knew I had several pictures of Sue on the mantle, and she brought unique flowers for Sue today.\u00a0 Robin made a beautiful picture with all the pinks and Sue’s amazing smile.<\/p>\n

Happy Mothers Day, my dearest wife! We miss you so very much.<\/p><\/div>\n

After Robin and Bob departed, Lee called, and we chatted for a few minutes.\u00a0 Her Mother’s Day was excellent, and we talked about her training class she must take on Tuesday to understand Colorado rules regarding lake and stream construction.\u00a0 It’s a long story!<\/p>\n

The Keruig machine produced a great cup of hot chocolate, which I took to the front room while watching a movie entitled “Roped.” A star cowboy in a traveling rodeo gets thrown off course when he falls in love with the daughter of a tough-minded town councilman.<\/p>\n

It’s been a tough day, so I am hitting the hay early, 10:30 PM.\u00a0 Tomorrow will be better!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
