For many years we would go to the annual CHOC benefit and dance the night away bidding on goodies we would never use, but we knew the money would go to a great cause.\u00a0 Tonight we danced in a new car showroom doing everything from the chicken dance to a conga line.\u00a0 Bob and Donna Z were with us, making it even more special.\u00a0 We had wonderful times together, operative word, TOGETHER.<\/p>\n

Dancing At CHOC to benefit the children<\/p><\/div>\n

Today I started on the master bedroom closet. I got it ready for Donna to come over and select anything she might want, especially the collection of Art Deco items Sue collected over the years.\u00a0 The girls are the same size, so I hope Donna decides to say, “I’ll take it all,” but I know that will not be the case.<\/p>\n

Sadly I packed five huge boxes of items such as nightshirts, shoes, socks, scarves, and bath related items.\u00a0 Two boxes, containing 50 pairs of shoes each, were just about half the shoes in the closet.\u00a0 I could go through and pack for a few minutes at a time before having to go into the yard and just sit, think, remember, and cry.\u00a0 Thank goodness for Colleen, Joe, and Robin as they broke up the morning and afternoon nicely.\u00a0 I talked to Jonathan for almost 45 minutes this afternoon.<\/p>\n

When I packed her golf items, I remembered vividly the many afternoons of Sue feeding the geese and the fact these geese knew her.\u00a0 They would fly in when she was on the course, honk a couple of times, and dine on the vitamin-fortified waterfowl food we got from the local feed store.<\/p>\n

The would walk right up to her and almost smile, knowing she would have a meal ready for them!<\/p><\/div>\n

By 3:00 PMI was done, all the emotions I could afford were gone, and I needed to rest.\u00a0 I watched a little TV before hitting the shower and getting ready to have dinner with both my grandchildren at their home in La Habra.\u00a0 Becca and Zack are lovely kids, and, as a plus, I get to visit the babies!\u00a0 Well, one baby, Remy, and one precocious firecracker, Lilly.\u00a0 After going through the closet, I found some baby dolls and a Muffy kit that I brought to Lilly.\u00a0 They are keepers, and she will learn to love them as her great grandmother Sue did.<\/p>\n

I enjoyed watching the varmints jumping around on the trampoline and coming to visit me with new and fanciful stories.<\/p>\n

They work together as a team!<\/p><\/div>\n

I sat and visited for quite a while, had a wonderful meal, and then headed for home.\u00a0 The visit to the grandkids was needed as today was not easy for me, but it has to be done eventually.<\/p>\n

Just after dinner was made, I got a text from our neighbor Vicky as the “duckies” were in our pool raising all sorts of a fuss, so I suspect either another varmint was in the area, or they were trying to get our attention!<\/p>\n
