Grief is like the ocean; it comes in waves, ebbing, and flowing. <\/strong><\/em>Sometimes the water is calm, and sometimes it is overwhelming. <\/strong><\/em>All we can do is learn to swim.<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

I plan to give this a try, but after 75 years, it will be challenging to retrain myself.\u00a0 To keep me from losing it, I worked in the garden, and a voice in my head said, “Paul! Do you have your hat one?”.\u00a0 I ran into the house and made it so!<\/p>\n

Shopping at Bed, Bath, and Beyond I bought a one-cup coffee maker, and this morning Colleen showed me how to use it. Well, the coffee was super, but I still have to visit the “gentlemen’s lounge” immediately after drinking the coffee.<\/p>\n

Donna called and told me to get off my butt and go for a walk around the block.\u00a0 I did just that and was surprised as I made it without stopping.\u00a0 Every day will get better so it seems.<\/p>\n

We headed to George’s Greek Cafe and found out George, the founder, and long-time proprietor, passed right before Christmas.\u00a0 We visited with him in November at the Long Beach location. His wife passed three days thereafter.\u00a0 We loved George and always looked forward to the big hug he had for all his customers.<\/p>\n

Dad introduced Colleen to “Opa.” Saganaki is fried cheese with lemon juice! A new Colleen favorite.<\/p><\/div>\n

We examined the menu, and Colleen tried the Salmon, but knowing the restaurant well, I went for the spinach and feta cheese stuffed steak! Sue and I would go here every few weeks as their vegetarian selections were terrific!<\/p>\n

Daughter Robin and me taken in the 1980s; we were a compelling due and still are!<\/p><\/div>\n

We (our daughters) sent the obituary to Diane for review, and we got some excellent comments.\u00a0 Colleen is going to deliver the obituary to the newspaper Monday afternoon.<\/p>\n

Colleen took off this afternoon to visit friends in La Mirada, and I had been alone for the first time since Wednesday, and it’s going to be OK.\u00a0 Just a big house with memories in every nook and cranny.\u00a0 I am developing a list of todo’s, which will keep me busy for quite a while.\u00a0 Will I ever get to the list? Only time will tell!<\/p>\n

All loved her. At the Christmas Play, she was too weak to make it onto the stage, so we adapted!<\/p><\/div>\n

In the afternoon, I attempted to watch TV, but I could not do it, so, out to the shop, I went and piddled around.<\/p>\n

Dang, she was always a cutie!<\/p><\/div>\n

As the sun dropped, I began reading the 177 page manual for Sue’s TV.\u00a0 I think I am going to have to take notes like in college to figure this thing out!<\/p>\n

Our son, Joe, kept track of us all day as Amy was down for the count with the flu.<\/p>\n
