Indeed:\u00a0If a train station is where the train stops, and a bus station is where the bus stops, what is a work station?<\/strong><\/p>\n

So I began with a walk and made it about 40 minutes until the knee started acting up so I returned home and took the car to the hardware store, wine store, CVS Pharmacy and Ralph’s. I prefer to walk but alas, the old knee won’t allow that.\u00a0 I have been wearing my old brace for two days not and I hope it works for tomorrow!<\/p>\n

During the short walk I though about where I grew up, I do not know why.\u00a0 I ran into a photo on-line that was taken from the old red car bridge over La Cienaga and Venice Boulevards which was 1000 feet from where I was born and raised.\u00a0 Brought back some memories!<\/p>\n

Random Memories:\u00a0 I walked over and under this bridge from the time I could walk until we moved to Mar Vista from Comey in 1961 and the bridge was removed for the Santa Monica Freeway on 1963. The print shop was right out on the corner and every night the printer would toss his “bad work” out and I was there to collect it…I had a stationary supply that was amazing…the leftover stock in any color you could imagine was amazing.<\/span><\/p>\n

I remember the sounds of the cars as they rumbled over the viaduct and I can still remember Mom and I walking to the bridge, walking up the concrete stairs, and traveling to downtown Los Angeles (going north) or to Venice BEach (going south).\u00a0 The trains stopped running in 1953 and soon thereafter the rails were removed (and reused) in other locations.\u00a0 The bridge stood there like a giant grey fortress.<\/span><\/p>\n

I remember seeing them on Terminal Island when my father left to go to Hawaii…Quite a sight!<\/p><\/div>\n

During the rest of the day I worked on dance club news letters, diddled in the garage, attempted to put a dining room table in the overheads but alas, I do not have the strength anymore…time for a grandson to help!<\/p>\n

I watched an episode of “Amos N’ Andy” on my laptop.\u00a0 I have two DVD’s with all 60 episode of the 1950’s comedy series on TV.\u00a0 Today it seems two white crooks rob a store taking $100,000.\u00a0 They find out one of then left his glasses on the safe with fingerprints. They want to escape to New York but do not want to get caught with the money so they stuff it in a chair and send the chair to New York via train!<\/span><\/p>\n

Years later, Andy and the Kingfish as in the park when it begins to rain so they run across the street into the train yard and enter the auction warehouse to keep dry.\u00a0 Of course, the box with the chair is being auctioned and they decide to bid on it.\u00a0 Funny as heck!\u00a0 They get the chair and take it back to “The Mystic Knights Of The Sea” lodge hall.<\/span><\/p>\n

The Kingfish and Andy independently discover the money and keeping it from one another is a gut buster of laughs!\u00a0 \u00a0Of course, the boys begin to spend the money and that is hilarious with Sapphire and Momma putting on the aires!\u00a0 Any buys a new Cadillac and is surrounded by ladies!<\/span><\/p>\n

The crooks come after the money, the cops come after the crooks, and Kingfish and Andy have to give back the money.\u00a0 Sapphire says “Lesson learned, you need to work for what you get”.\u00a0 The next scene, all four of them show up at the train yard and bid on lost boxes.<\/span><\/p>\n

Binge watching, they way to go!<\/p><\/div>\n

We watched TV and are now in season fourteen so we are starting to remember a lot of what we are seeing.\u00a0 We decided it was time for a movie so we selected a no-brainer.\u00a0 It was indeed a no brainer but entertaining.<\/p>\n

We watched a silly movie called “The Kissing Booth”.\u00a0\u00a0The Kissing Booth is a 2018 American romantic comedy film directed by Vince Marcello, based on the novel of the same name by Beth Reekles. It stars Molly Ringwald, Joey King, Jacob Elordi and Joel Courtney. The film was released on May 11, 2018 on Netflix.<\/p>\n

We both said “it was cute” but certainly not great.\u00a0 It’s IMDB rating was a 6.3, about right!<\/p>\n
