Did You Know? American fighter planes in WW2 had machine guns that were Fed by a belt of cartridges. The average plane held belts that were 27 feet (9 yards) long. If the pilot used up all his ammo, he was said to have given it the whole nine yards.<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n<\/div>\n

It’s 4:00 AM and guess who is up and about?\u00a0 For whatever reason, Sue was bright-eyed, and bushy-tailed at 4:00 AM wanted a cup of hot tea.\u00a0 Paul fell out of bed, crawled into the kitchen, and made tea, wondering the whole time if boiling water would be dropped on the floor as he prepared the tea with half an eye open?\u00a0 We had our tea and back to bed, we went.\u00a0 Ah, sleep, precious sleep.<\/p>\n

OMG!\u00a0 What is that sound at 6:00 AM, it’s Sue getting up and wanting some more tea!\u00a0 Tell me it isn’t so!\u00a0 Indeed, we are up for the day!\u00a0 What will happen in five hours of sleep?\u00a0 Nothing!<\/p>\n

The closets are nearly done, so Paul attacked the two half-sized filing cabinets!\u00a0 First things first!\u00a0 Instruction books, operating manuals, and other paperwork for the “appliances.”\u00a0 They are all organized now into their own Pendaflex folders!\u00a0 OMG, Paul can find the TV manual now and, more importantly the TV remote control manual!\u00a0 He did throw out about ten manuals of things long since gone.\u00a0 It was an excellent exercise.\u00a0 Paul went to Staples and got a clear plastic file box, just the right size for the collection of manuals!\u00a0 Into the closet, the file container went, and now they are easy to find!<\/p>\n

We decided to go to the monthly Old Ranch dinner dance as Sue was missing our friends, and our friends wanted to see how she was doing.\u00a0 We decided to start getting ready at 2:30 PM so Sue would have plenty of time.\u00a0 Yep! Nope!<\/p>\n

At 1:00 PM, she was stepping into the shower, and by 2:00 PM we were ready to go to a 4:00 PM meeting… What to do?\u00a0 Paul decided an excellent tour of Sunset Beach, Seal Beach, and South Long Beach would be in order! We finally arrived at Old Ranch about 4:00 PM and met up with our golf friends\u00a0 James and Linda Cathey.\u00a0 We now take a bottle of non-alcoholic wine with us where ever we go, and you know, it’s lovely!<\/p>\n

It’s now 5:00\u00a0 PM and time to dance… Well, we don’t dance these days, but our friends certainly did!\u00a0 It was nice to see Holly and Bill from Starlighters!<\/p>\n

Did you Know? Maraca (About this sound pronunciation (help\u00b7info)), sometimes called rumba shaker, loser-shac, and various other names, is a rattle that appears in many genres of the Caribbean and Latin music. It is shaken by a handle and usually played as part of a pair.<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n

Maracas, also known as tamaracas, were rattles of divination, an oracle of the Brazilian Tupinamba Indians, found also with other Indian tribes (Garifuna, Guarani), and on the Orinoco and in Florida. Rattles made from gourds (Lagenaria) are being shaken by the natural grip, while the round calabash (Crescentia) fruits are fitted to a handle.<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n

Human hair is sometimes fastened on the top, and a slit is cut in it to represent a mouth, through which their shamans (payes) made it utter its responses. A few pebbles are inserted to make it rattle, and it is crowned with the red feathers of the Goaraz. <\/span><\/em>Modern maraca balls are also made of leather, wood, or plastic.<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n

Dang, a musical talent we did NOT know about.\u00a0 Neal did ask for some human hair to attach tot he maraca, and then he looked at Paul and decided that would NOT be a good idea!<\/p>\n

Sue was feeling pretty good today, although the prediction is, she will crash tomorrow!\u00a0 LOVE THAT SMILE!<\/p>\n
