We did our walk mid morning and took a load of pictures.\u00a0 Walking is refreshing and we get to meet some of our neighbors.\u00a0 On the way back home we retrieved the Avalon which was parked at Bunny’s house… Long story!<\/p>\n

Flower and plants are so very diverse!\u00a0 Below is a purple cactus.\u00a0 Opuntia macrocentra, the long-spined purplish prickly pear or purple pricklypear, is a cactus found in the lower Southwestern United States and Northwestern Mexico. A member of the prickly pear genus, this species of Opuntia is most notable as one of a few cacti that produce a purple pigmentation in the stem. Other common names for this plant include black-spined pricklypear, long-spine prickly pear, purple pricklypear, and redeye prickly pear.<\/p>\n

Opuntia macrocentra is an upright spreading shrub consisting of several joined segments called pads. This cactus produces large colorful yellow and red blooms and dark red edible fruits<\/p>\n

We had lunch and Paul took a nap after working in the garden a bit.<\/p>\n

At 4:00, we decided to go to Old Ranch to have a drink and lo and behold, the gang was there.\u00a0 We did some serious Happy Hour.\u00a0 Paul drank so much iced tea he had to go to the car and retrieve his jacket on a 75 degree afternoon!<\/p>\n
